My 6.5 Grendel Build - rgkitchen - 10-09-2021
I meticulously put this rifle together using no compromise parts (for me, some may scoff at the Anderson lower, but every AR-15 I've built has an Anderson closed trigger lower). I'm experimenting with factory ammo since I'm not reloading at this time. The best, so far, has been American Eagle 123gr. Open Tip Match, followed by Hornaday 123gr. Black Hills and ELD Match. Wolf Military and Match are OK, but not good enough. PPU 110gr. and 123gr. also did not measure up. I'd like to try some Federal Gold Medal Match, when I can find some.

That is a very attractive build. Quick question, is there a way to quick-remove the arms of the bipod? I'm growing to like that concept, but the more classic Harris style has a thumbscrew that lets me remove the whole thing, for those days I'm afield and unlikely to be using a bipod, and want the weight savings of it not being there. But I'm growing to really like the look and aspect of those handguard-mounted ones like you have.

No, the bipod legs are not quick detach, but I fold them back toward the receiver, and they lay close to the sides of the hand guard leaving the bottom of the hand guard clear so that you can easily hand hold it or rest it on a branch or a fence.
