16” suppressed gas port size - Mustangfreek - 02-24-2021

Just bored and thinking about stuff, 16” ba barrel is currently at .076 and somewhat gassy with can, thinking about drilling/tapping gas block and doing the diy brt set screw and wondering how far some have gotten away with?

Mid length , full auto carrier, mostly 123’s and Wolf for plinking, std carbine tube with H1 currently.

How small have you used and worked good? Don’t really want to do it more then once (swap out the size of the port in gb)

And not swapping to a Adj. gas block..

Everything I’ve read has used .076” or .078” for 16” mid length gas 6.5 Grendel.

Shit that’s bigger then my ba barrel is right now that’s gassy with the can.

If I was concerned with gas port pressure, I would install an adjustable gas block. If not, you will have to experiment with port sizes with the ammunition you are planning to use for optimum cycling. Different ammunition will have different port pressures. Different bolt carriers can also effect cycling..
