Faxon 12" barrel just sold, upgrading to 10,5 Lilja, 12" Smoke Composites hand guard, V7 Titanium linear compensator and 2A billet lower as parts are available, the weight will then be approx 3.9lbs
As shown, 4.2 lbs,
2A slick side billet upper, Smoke 10" carbon fiber hand guard, SLR titanium adjustable gas block, AIM titanium bolt carrier, Faxon Bolt, V7 titanium firing pin, Smoke billet finger stop/QD sling mount.
AP M4E1 lower, V7 titanium pins, grip bolt, selector, and mag release, dual spring buffer, Smoke carbon fiber grip and buffer tube.
Gear Head works Tailhook swapped to SB3 mini brace.

It has been a great deal of fun researching and building this but I also built a $1k "duty" version that does all I really need so likely to sell this sooner or later as a whole gun, part it out, etc as have three Grendels and a tiny safe in the full time RV.

I picked the caliber before deciding what to build, wanted a Mini 30 6.5G but $2500 was just to much to invest so went with an MSR build but this one ended up being $2500 anyway and if I do the rest of the changes well over $3k, ouch!!!

I have a similar build with smoke composites stock, 2a upper receiver, 12" krieger barrel and i have a 1-10x on it. I would be happy if it was my only rifle. Love it.

I started this project in Dec 2019 to build one 6.5G but have have had enough parts to build 5, had 3 completed until just yesterday. I have a buyer for my 18" rifle though in another caliber so stripped the lower end pistol and rifle down and swapped parts around a bit, all legally of course, so now my $1000 pistol is a $1300 one and the $1500 rifle will be $1k and the 18" 6.5 fluted barrel will be sold.

I had two Leupold LRP, 3 Vortex moderate priced scopes, and a couple of others in this time. I picked up a Leupold 1.5-4 30mm circle firedot, 12.4 ounces for my custom 10/22 takedown(that is now a folding 7" carbon wrapped barrel without a single ruger part left on it) and loved it so much I bought one for the 6.5G pistol. Very bright and clear glass, very good daylight red dot, some hash marks I need to get used to using....I wish it was 1-6, 8 or 10 but their 6 and 8 go up hugely in price and I do not like the reticles as well. I wanted to build a pistol and the 6.5G seemed perfect, found a video of a guy with something like .75 MOA at 100 yards, ringing steel at 800 yards on a 1-4 optic so I decided to make the 1.5-4 work as it does not bother me at all to have both eyes open at any power setting.
I have looked at everything made from 1x...to 2x....and will spend whatever it takes to do what I want it to do but will be hard to decide since I love the 1.5-4 so much and it was cheap, got two at $335 each, shipped!

I had to close my 20+ years business last year due to manf issues likely tied to Covid though they did not confirm it so I retired again, 3rd time, fun money is suddenly in much shorter supply so selling toys to build new toys

I agree, my only rifle besides my 22 will be my 6.5G pistol!
I am likely going to sell the expensive one, in part out if needed and keep the $1300 one as it will still be a dang fine gun.

15.8 ounces with Aero mount, weight of gun, scope, mount, empty mag, just over 5.2 lbs.
