I put in an "upgraded" trigger on my AR-15, but it still wasn't as good as I wanted. A friend told me about Triggertech triggers and had me over to his house to "play" with some. Boy was I impressed! They have four models from just over $200 up to $280, depending on what you want. The thing(s) about them is that they are a straight drop-in replacement, two pins and a set screw and you're done. Five minutes. The triggers are adjustable with an allen wrench from the top of the lower. Pull the rear pin, open it up and change the pull weight in one minute. There is zero creep, no overtravel to speak of and an 0.030 reset. I have owned several Timneys, but I think these are a lot better. I've had many people shoot my AR and they are all REALLY impressed with the trigger. If you're looking for a great upgrade, you really should consider this one.

I have never owned a Geissele trigger so I can't say one way or the other.

The nice triggers Ive owned are the Geissele SSA-E, Geissele SD-E, Triggertech Competitive.
All were in the 3.5 lb total weight pull area. But they were the opposite in how they got there. The Geissele have more travel and weight in stage 1. The Triggertech had no travel in stage one. To me it felt like shooting a single stage trigger. I put just over 100 rounds of precision pulls in it, no just pulling for the hell of it. At the end I was better with it and might have gotten a lot better but decided to sell it.
I like the travel and heavier stage 1 of the Geissele triggers. But thats me. Everyone is different.
Ive never tried the National Match but have been told its better than the SSA-E model.

I saw a video of a guy testing out the Triggertech Diamond trigger on a computerized machine using the Geissele High Speed National Match trigger as the control and the Diamond out performed the Geissele. I've used the Geissele and it's amazing. The TT Diamond is as well, but only time will tell. Both triggers are extremely consistent with the Diamond edging out the HSNM by a little.

I watched that video as well. I think the thing to keep in mind is that the HSNM was designed for a very specific purpose - a 4.5 lb service rifle configuration and a match configuration of 3 lbs. The triggers are tested the day of the match and if they are under their weight they have to be readjusted prior to being legal in competition ( not the thing you want to do the day of a match). Geissele makes an outstanding trigger.
The trigger tech on the other hand looks like a very nice trigger however.
It's great to have the choices ... I remember the times of only service triggers and the quest to try to modify for a better trigger than mil spec ... We've come a long way.

All of my AR's have LaRue triggers in them which if you do not know about you should look into! $87.00 and it is the best AR trigger there is! I do have a Triggertech Zero Travel trigger on my Bergara 6.5 PRC. The first time I tried it I was amazed because when they say zero travel they are not joking around! The movement is imperceptible!

I just received a TT Competitive and am really impressed. It's a 2-stage, but the first stage is incredibly short, the break feels extremely precise - almost like a tuned 1911. The reset is very short & very crisp.
I previously sold my Geissele SSA to go all in on LaRue MBT-2S triggers. After using the TT Competitive, I feel like the MBT-2S is still my go-to trigger for duty guns & general marksmanship with the longer first stage & very positive reset. The TT has a leg up for precision work with the cleaner break and is definitely better for competition with the extremely fast reset. I can only assume the adjustable versions are even nicer, but I feel like a 3.5 lb trigger is as low as I want for my semi-autos.

I have a triggertech in one of my AR builds pretty amazing. If you watch Optics P they run sales. Mine is the 3.5 Comp flat face trigger and it was $129 with free shipping.

I absolutely love my TriggerTech! I was looking to go with AR Gold when building my Grendel, and being a heavy researcher before spending more than $50 on anything, I started reading. Then I saw a massive trigger comparison here: https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/ar-15-drop-in-trigger-roundup/
Reading about the consistency and the practical elimination of creep at a price way less than the AR Gold made me go this route. I have one with a straight trigger shoe and it is the best trigger Ive ever shot.
