has anyone have a source for grendel bolt carrier groups? would like to find a toolcraft nickel boron unit but will look at all and any. also, just bolts separate for sale as well,,,of course i want IN STOCK items,,,,

Its not pretty.
For my last BCG, I waited for AIM Surplus to send me info when a 223 NB BCG came in stock and got that.
For the bolt, I was either getting a barrel that came with a Grendel bolt, or using BFT/65Arms bolt.
So find 6 sites, sign up for stock info, and grab a 223 BCG when you can and treat the bolt as a seperate exercise.
Or head over to ar15.com and hit the equipment exchange up. There are options out there.

You can order BCGs directly from Toolcraft but only by phone or email. They don't have a shopping option on their website.

I have one Odin, one 6.5G Monster & two Precision Firearms Grendel II bolts. I'm using the two PF bolts in my Grendel & 6mm ARC rifles. The carrier in my Grendel is also from PF. The carrier in my 6mm ARC is an NiB carrier from one of my 5.56 ARs but can't remember who made it.
PF has Grendel NiB BCGs but they run $220 & $170 for Black Nitride. They're pretty busy at PF so there might be a bit of a wait for your bolt. It was about 10 days wait for the last bolt I ordered.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Monster bolt & any high quality carrier you can find.
EDIT: Changed my mind... Gonna use the Monster Bolt for my 6mm ARC

I was in the same boat last week. Looking for a grendel BCG but finding everyone is out of stock.
I ultimately found NiB BCGS in stock at FailZero. Ordered directly from them. I had it shipped directly to Andy at grendelhunter so he can measure and test in the upper he's doing for me. I haven't had a failZero before so I can't speak to tolerances or quality. Online reviews seem good on it.

Brownell's Nitride setups are pretty nice. MP stamped bolts and they are the real Grendel bolt face depth...aka SAAMI spec. Brownell's has military discount too!

FWIW, I just bought a Grendel BCG from MidwayUSA last week. Aero Precision. Nitrided. I admit that I don't know for sure from what factory Aero procures their carriers, but I assume they're not "junk".
As it happens, it did not even need to be a Grendel bolt that came with. I am going to use one of BFT's Monster bolts for the build in mind. And so now I have a spare Grendel Type II bolt, which is nice.

Cryptic Coatings is the online retail side of Toolcraft. Even their phosphate and nitride BCG's are excellent quality in my experience. A lot of items are on backorder though. You may have to source a bolt and carrier separately to get what you need.
Not a huge fan of Optics Planet but they have 3 Aero Precision BCGs left in stock. If you trust their inventory.

Sounds like the country store in the small town (150 Pop) near where I grew up. Of course there were no AR15s back in the early 50's. Still they had ammo, knives, .22's, and of other gun/hunting related gear. Too bad the Country had to go and get politically correct on us country boys. I remember the FFA boys bringing their .22s and .410 shotguns to school so that they could do pest control right after school while it was still daylight.

Oh the horror, Lol. Remember that as well and we didn't have to check them in at the door but those were different days.

I have two PSA BCGs. One is good and one, not so much. If you only want to buy once, go with Monster bolts from SixFiveArms. They seem to be consistently good quality and very close in spec. from one to another. There is a thread in the Troubleshooting room that has lots of detail on dimensional variations. Good luck.

I use only phosphate BCM Bolt carriers in my builds. They have been the most consistently made, reliable, and in spec bolt carriers I have used. For many, "it can be hit or miss" even with some of the more expensive and well known brands.
