I have the 6.5 Creedmoor version of that exact rifle and I love it. Great entry-level shooter, very lightweight. Super accurate right out the box and the accutrigger is very nice without doing a thing to it. You get every penny's worth out of that rifle I'm telling you. I put a first focal plane MIL illuminated reticle 6x24x50 scope on it and bang the 14" gong at 1000 yards with ease every day, twice on Sunday.

One thing I hope for out of this, is other mfrs will now jump in, since savage is doing it.
i would not turn down an axis, I have tweaked several into nice rifles...

I find it interesting that Savage never chambered a rifle in Grendel but did 6 ARC in the cartridge's infancy.

I was wondering the same thing. I also wonder, will some folks convert it to 6.5 Grendel like they did the Savage Model 10 Scout in 7.62 X 39? If I had a Scout in 7.62 X 39, I'd rather convert it to 6mm ARC. I have contemplated this... :-) Still hoping Howa will get off the stick & bless us with a Mini in 6mm ARC.

Found out today that Shilen makes a 6Arc barrel for Savage pre-fit. Northland can order it.
Once I get me hands on one of the savage models and shoot it a bit, I'll probably re-barrel it.
Kinda stinks that they did the 110 in 18" barrel, that really doesn't make sense to me.
20-24" would make more sense.
The 110 action/barrel setup - I like.
I've not been a fan of the accufit stock system, I have a couple and just couldn't get them to work for me. So I've switched them out for chassis or bell/carlson...

If I was doing a bolt gun 6mm with a micro action, Id be tempted to go Dasher instead, a though factory ammo from Hornady is what really will sell and support the 6 ARC if the demand is there.
That Savage picture looks like a long action, not even a short action. Wonder if they used a file photo of something else or if thats representative of what the actual action length is.
These little guys really benefit from shorter bolt travel and tiny, lightweight actions.

They really need a micro action for such a small cartridge, which is really one of the biggest selling points with the Grendel Minis.
The Howa Mini feels almost like a .22 LR bolt gun, its so small, compact, and lightweight with similar bolt travel.

With this savage, the trick will be to see how well it feeds from the model 10-size mags. I had trouble getting them to work when I tried a savage build... we'll see.

I agree, For A manufacturing point this seems to be a viable COST effective option. Think they need a model 390 MA.
The Micro action would have the potential for chambering 17 fireball 221 fireball, 222, 223, 17 rem, 204 Ruger, 6mm ARC, 6.5 Grendel, 7.62x39 & 350 legend. Suspect someone may see a number of SAMMI chambering I may have overlooked if they bumped up the bolt diameter slightly from current micro actions .
