ac4 pneumatic recoil buffer for GDMR lower - Byron - 02-14-2012
Is there a better buffer without noise/ feel of the spring? Friend of mine, picked up a AC4 Pneumatic Buffer from Oly Arms for his 223, & I like the feel. Will this work for the Grendel? I have a full length GDMR Magpul lower. THXS for any help.

Unfortunately there isn't a hydraulic buffer for full length buffer tubes like the Magpul PRS uses. Multiple people have tried the standard rifle length .223/5.56 buffer and it appears to have changed the timing enough to increase the risk of a broken bolt.
I have been happily running the adjustable stock version sold by AA for close to 3 years, though.

You could probably epoxy a plug in the rifle lenght tube and run the adjustable stock version

This makes me feel better. I have the same buffer and some tell me it doesn't work with the Grendel. I don't have anywhere to shoot right now so I can't take it out and see for myself.
