I have original Faxon manufactured 16 and 18 Monster logo barrels and one 12 manufactured by Green Mountain plus several Monster bolts manufactured by Millennium. I think these are very good barrels for being a rack grade barrels. I really like my last 12 barrel with the 1:7.5 twist. Id like to try the new 16 group buy barrel but I already have two 16 6.5 Grendel AR-15s. You can spend more money on a custom barrel and likely get a more accurate barrel but for the 6.5 Grendel enthusiast or hunter these are great barrels for the price.
I really like the barrel profile and balance of the Monster barrels and being QPQ/Nitride they will last a long time at 6.5 Grendel pressures. Used Monster barrels sell very quickly on the forum if you decide the 6.5 Grendel is not what you want.

I don't see myself reloading anytime soon. Do ill be shooting box ammo for a while. I dont know if that makes a difference in build quality? Realistically ill be shooting 300yd give or take

I'm curious about the new barrel with the bore optimized for the Wolf bullet diameter. Does anyone with the new style barrel have a range report shot with Russian ammo?

My 18" is awesome. It is sub MOA with several loads and bullets. I was surprised how great it shoots.

I have a 20" and almost every bullet I have used have been able to get sub 1" groups at 100yds. Would reccomend these barrels!

Couldn't be happier with the 12" 1:7.5 twist GM Monster barrel and bolt. Haven't shot Wolf yet, seems to like all factory loads I've run through it so far. Mostly 120- 130 gr. Worst case so far has been 1.3" @ 100 yds.
Should get my hands some Wolf in the next few weeks.

My 20 monster barrel with monster bolt is doing great. When I broke it in, I couldnt believe how little copper fouling it would take. (Yeah, I did the full-up OCD break in until it told me it was done grabbing significant copper.) I think someone did a very good job chambering mine. It settled down in a couple dozen rounds and is shooting American Gunner more precisely than I can with a Geissele NM trigger.
The bolt looks great, tiny brass marks suggest that the extractor might need the slightest touch of polish on the outer corners, but Im gonna run some steel wolf through it first..that will probably smooth those corners out.
From my sample of one/ea these group buy barrels & bolts are a high value/ strong recommend. Im getting more after I replenish my inventory.

Rifling is 1:7.5 twist 5R Hybrid with the edges of the 5 lands at a steeper angle than traditional 5R for a better bite on the chronically undersized Wolf steel-case bullet
