Guys, while I am working on the Ultrabolt project, I decided to offer what I have for sale.
This bolt is my improved Ultrabolt body, but has a standard Grendel extractor because the new and improved Ultrabolt extractors are not done in manufacturing yet.
I've sat on these, waiting for the new extractors, because in my testing I experienced binding upon extraction with a standard extractor and the new Ultrabolt body. But it seems that I was in the minority among my testers. Most have had no problems with this hybrid setup.
Sometimes the perfect is the enemy of the best.
So, I've decided to offer these hybrid bolts at a special sale price of $55 each. Once the new extractors are complete, the price will go up because they cost more to produce.
At the worst, any binding will resolve as the parts wear in, and, at any rate, the new extractors will be available separately once manufactured.

I just looked at AA web site and they have discontinued using the term hard use bolt. An AA bolt cost $93.50 plus shipping and maybe sales tax. I have at least one AA bolt and several Monster Millennium Manufacturing bolts and I can see no difference in performance or wear. At one time I think AA sourced his bolts from Millennium Manufacturing. For the price Ill continue to buy bolts from BFT and keep at least one spare. Hopefully BFT will chime in but Maxim bolts and JP bolts ($$$) get good reviews as do the current Toolcraft 6.5 Grendel BCG.

AA used to sell two kinds of bolts: the standard model and the "hard use." The hard use had a U-shaped notch taken out of the rear of the lug that was opposite the extractor. Theory was it would help even out the stress load on the other lugs. I believe it also used a more expensive alloy that was not necessarily stronger than the 9310 alloy used in AA's (and now the rest of the industry) bolts, but was more resistant to micro-crack formation and the resulting metal fatigue.
Bottom line: The "hard use" bolt was supposed to last for a longer round count under full auto fire before a lug broke.

I couldnt remember the exact difference in the AA Hard Use bolt. I knew it had something to do with the lug design so thanks for refreshing my memory. I was surprised the Hard Use bolt was not on AA web site but maybe sales had diminished and they stopped stocking them.
