Did some upgrades today swapped from my 15" in hg to a 17.5 lapped the upper and bedded the barrel in the receiver we'll see if it helps accuracy at all .as accurate as this gun already was I'm not sure I'll see much of any improvement but I deff like the look with the new hg

Mel,
i will be interested in your results. i am tempted to take apart my upper and lap the upper face and loctite 609 the barrel extension into the upper to improve accuracy. if it improves it. of course i like to tinker so i may do it anyway, figuring at least it can't hurt. But if you see an improvement in accuracy i'll be more motivated to give it a go myself.

well i broke the lower mount on my scope putting it back on thought i had an extra ring at home but cant find it hopping a friend has a spare i can throw on tonight and do some testing
was tqing the rings to the rail and snapped the stud

i assume you were using a torque wrench? perhaps a defect in the stud? do you lube the threads before torquing?

Yeah it's got a tiny lil threaded piece for the rings ,made in China OEM atn rings , I bandaided it with a 10-24 machine screw for now, friend is checking for me but should have a spare OEM ring I can use till I put my one piece 20moa mount/rings on it

so far nothing noticable but i guess when u can already shoot .312 groups at 100 theres not much more u can do to improve heres a 230y 7 rd group after all that

granted this is a new powder im using, what i really need to do is put my eld-m/ppv load to the test and see if thats any better since that combo has shot some of my tightest groups

Mel,
u must be the best AR shooter there is. i can only shoot perhaps 1 MOA on a consistent basis with the best rig i have. some groups are 1/2 MOA, but i can't shoot all the groups at 1/2 MOA. i screw up regularly. that is some mighty fine shooting there. congrats. and it looks like truing up the receiver face and using a sleeve sealant sure didn't hurt your groups. like you said, hard to tell if it helped. but i doesn't appear to have hurt either.

Which model Thor are you using? I've looked through a Pulsar and really like the picture-in-picture.

its not a thor/thermal , im using the 4k pro 5-20x, i have friends who have both the 4k and thermals and they prefer the 4k for night hunting using a atn ots to scan with

as soon as this weather calms down a lil( its over 100* right now ) ima go for some 1000y groups on paper since my gong is concave it sometimes makes it hard to see exactly were a round has hit due to the way it splatters on the concave surface

got rid of my noisy 3 prong flashhider/supressor mount and swapped on a titan mini brake/supressor mount , this thing works awesome on the grendel

and yes i know i need to get rid of the crush washer but its all i had , got some shims on the way , ill be using one of theese on my new grendel build as well , i only have one complaint and thats that they dont make these in titanium like the 3 prong is

bought a 20 moa rail/riser turns out its really close to 30 moa , 28 to be exact , going to be some really long range fun comming soon , was orginally to try out on my 28" inch build but since the barrel isnt here yet and i have the lr itch figured id throw it on the 20 for now

so far so good installed the rail mounted ,scope and went to zero last night and it was dead on except for being high but it was exactly as high as i expected it to be , it held zero all night long got a few critters, might have to buy one more of theese for each of my rifles

added an abl 1500 laser , this goes on both of my scopes , instant ranging and balistics calc adjustments on the fly even in the dark now. the other nice thing is when i lend a rifle to somone to come out and hunt pests with me at night if i range it the laser will send the range info to both scopes so both scopes will auto adjust the reticle

picked up an adjustable gas block so the modified purple anodized block is comming off , will be easier to switch between supressed and unspressed settings now , instead of running a compromise between both n the gas system
