Hunting Scope - GobblingGrendel - 06-21-2020
I have completed a 6.5 Grendel build with a Grendel Hunter 18 upper. My intended use is white tail hunting in thick bush. Will likely never shoot beyond 200 yards. Ive used mostly Leupold scopes on my bolt action rifles and Id like to stay there with my Grendel. Ive read that their new Leupold AR is good and read their Rifleman is good as well. What are the differences between the two? Anyone have any recs on a specific scope from them? Thanks.

If I was Never going to shoot over 200 I would not hesitate going with a VX-r 1-4. I have one on my 12 Grendel. The pig plex reticle works well for me as a hunting optic.

Id go with a 3-9x40 freedom or rifleman.Not very heavy and all the magnification you need for hunting. Will only put you out $200

For years hunting woods and occasionally longer shots my favorite power range is 2-7 plenty for reaching out and wide field of view for close in. Leupold makes a firedot model that I have sold to several for their woods hunting scope and they find it works well for them as well. Just my preference yours may vary
