just looking for a cheapish longer barrel to do some playing around with and i can pick up an ar stoner 24 inch for not to bad of a price
and then jse surplus has some really heavy bull barrels but doesnt state the manufacture and the longest they have is 22" , though i really want to play with a 24 or longer

Last I knew AR Stoner barrels were manufactured by Bear Creek Arsenal and prior to BCA Saturn/Liberty provided AR Stoner barrels. The house brand barrel from JSE Surplus were reported to be manufactured by Mossberg. This was a couple years ago but the current house brand JSE Surplus barrels use a .125 bolt face depth 7.62x39 bolt (not my preferred bolt).
Brownells sell a Satern/Liberty 24 Grendel II barrel. If I were going to buy a 22 6.5 Grendel barrel Id spend a little more money and get the Criterion barrel from Brownells and either get a Group Buy Millennium Monster Bolt or a Toolcraft BCG.

the only reason i would consider that 22 is cause it was really heavy , but honestly if i was going to do the 22 id just buy another wilson and i know it would be a good barrel , if im going to spend 300+ i think ill just buy the satern/liberty 28 like i want to do
only downside at this point on a 28 is ive been spoiled by the can , and a 28 with a 9 inch can is going to be ridiculous long

An A.R. stoner 24 inch barrel is $190.For $80 more you can get a criterion 22 inch Hbar barrel from Optics planet. Ive had one for a while now and it shoots very well.And its light enough to take hog hunting too.
I had also heard that AR stoner barrels were being made by BCA.I definitely would not pay $190 for a BCA barrel.

cheap enough to give it a try. who knows, you might get a decent one. unless you're looking for 1/4 MOA.

I got lucky with my AR Stoner, it's a Liberty I purchased in 2012. I would buy a Criterion today and spend the money for a product that has a higher probability of being satisfactory.

I don't think anyone is making one that long in a off the shelf option.
Probably be best to go with a custom barrel. I would give Mark of PF a call and see what price he can do for you on a 28 inch barrel on one of his Citerion blanks.
I suggest Mark because I have done business with him and everything I have gotten from him has been great.
Edit to add.
At the distances I'm seeing shooting at. I don't think you would be happy with anything other then a custom barrel with a length of 28 inches.

I guess I need to do a lil thinking on if it's worth the money to get a lil more velocity and range out of my Grendel , or if I should just spend that money on a new barrel for my cm since the first barrel is not shooting good enough for what I'm doing

Honestly this is what I would do.
Since your trying to stretch the grendel for all you can get. One way would be to have a custom barrel made like I stated above.
But what I would most probably do if it was me, is I would pick up a cz 527 varmint model grendel like I have already, with the 25.5 inch barrel.
Once set up with a 25 moa rail and better stock it would probably be a lil cheaper then a custom barrel and basicly you would be at the point of getting everything the grendel case could give you.
Example.
My 129 ablr handload at my attitude averages 2636 fps with h3895.
And my 123 eld-m handload averages 2685 fps
Run that on your ballistics app and see how it compares too what your getting now.
I have had the 123 eld-m going nearly 2800 fps with leverevolution but the temp unstableness just doesn't work for me down here.
Anyways just some food for thought Mel.

so calcs on what ive been shooting versus gains
well do this at 1500 yards since its the last thing i shot at with the eld-m
my load was going roughly 2470 fps out of my 20" with 1351 inches of drop
same bullet going 2800 = 983 inches of drop not bad out of a grendel
compared to the 123g eld-m out of my cm mv of 2980 = 834 inches of drop
at 2000y my cm will be 2268 inches of drop impact with 658 fps
my 2470fps load would be 2816 inches 502fps impact at 2k
and a 2800 fps grendel load would be 2695 inches with impact velocity of 600 fps
and last but not least my favorite as of now ELR bullet for the grendel the 130 rdf
my 20" mv of 2600 fps =2430 inches of drop impact velocity of 733fps
theoretical 28 inch mv ill call 2750fps = 2105 inches of drop impact velocity of 801 fps
and out of my cm since ive actually done some testing
mv of 2925fps 1889 inches of drop with an impact velocity of 849 fps
