Lone Boar Stalks - Double Naught Spy - 05-28-2020
Lately, I haven't been seeing sounders, only singles. I actually like finding lone boars. There is a very definite feeling of self satisfaction in knowing you went after a target and got it. Sounders are probably a whole lot more fun, but I am always left with a feeling of being unfulfilled when I shot 1-9 members in a sounder and 10, 20, or 30 more escape unscathed. So here are two of my three last outings. The first outing resulted in no kills and no shots even taken.

I completely agree. Sitting over the corn pile waiting for the groups to come in is fun.
But stalking down logging trails and creek bottoms after a single animal is what drives my night hog hunting.

All I see is boars. Generally only 3-4 or mainly just one big boar. Do 2,3, boars hang out together?

Yeah, there are sometimes bachelor groups, mostly of younger boars that have been kicked out of the sounder, so likely age or litter mates, but not always. The first two hogs I ever killed were on my game camera together for about 3 months or so. Both were large hogs, but obviously not age or litter mates. They were different sizes, colors, and had different head and body shapes, but they often were together at the feeder. I killed them several weeks apart.
