New guy with a new toy. I had the itch for another AR platform ever since I gave my last one to my stepson so I started looking around for something that I could use for my hunting needs and decided on the 6.5 Grendel. I knew I wanted a kit to put together instead of buying a complete gun because I knew I could get it cheaper (I'm a cheap a$$). I found a few that I liked in the price range I wanted and ended up ordering one from CBC industries with an 18" barrel. I read some bad reviews from these guys but decided to take a chance since it had a lifetime warranty and ordered it. Too about 2 weeks for it to get to me so in that time I had to find me a stripped lower so I started calling around locally to see what the had and ended up with the F&D defense lower which ended up being made 15 miles from my house. ( Extremely good lower btw.) So then I knew it need optics so again I was looking for a good deal and found Barra optics which has an unlimited lifetime warranty. I ordered the 4-12×40 and a cantilever mount and waited for it all to come in. I forgot that I ordered 2 10 rd mags from jobob too.
Well everything finally showed up and I got it together and couldn't wait to see what it would do so off to the range I went. I picked up a box of 123 gr Hornady ELD-M so thats what I used to see what she'd do. First I shot it at 50 yards to get a zero then it was very easy to get the scope dead center bullseye so then I took it out too 100 yards and was amazed on how this brand new gun was shooting sub moa groups and wasn't even broke in. The gun shot way better than I ever dreamed of it doing so I'm extremely happy with how everything came together. So now I gotta get it out and put some meat in the freezer...

I'll get this figured out eventually. I'm 13 miles Southwest of Seminole. I hunt alot south of Seminole and have taken a few really nice bucks there.
