Gentlemen, Warriors, and Vile Unwashed of the Grendel Horde, all tooling is now on order for the MONSTER line of 6mmARC barrels. Gonna be super sweet.
A factory 6mm on the Grendel is an idea that has been a long time coming, and so many of us have been advocating for it for years!
Moving forward on this cautiously bearing in mind Hornady has not yet even made an official public announcement.

The beauty of long-for-caliber bullets in intermediate case sizes is that they work well in both longer 20-inch barrels and in shorter 12-inch barrels....

Right?!? WHERE is Hornady on all this? We've already got the various "6mm Grendel" wildcats, so the difference here is this all depends on factory ammo and factory support of the project by a major player.

What twist are you thinking of using on the barrels? Any ideas who might have dies" A 20" would be a nice addition to my lineup. My 6mm-284 needs a new barrel so it hasn't been shot in a couple of years, so this would be a nice change up.

Barrel button is already ordered with a 1:7 twist. SAAMI spec is 1:7.5 but if, let's say, someone was to do a 12" 6mmARC, you'd want it in 1:7 for maximum bullet stability. A 1:7 won't hurt anything in a 20", either, and will only help at long range. There's no real velocity loss to going tighter.
As far as dies go, I'll look into it, but at the moment I've got a lot of irons in the fire....

Only real thing we would need to do is if there's a Hornady (or somebody's?) 6mmGrendel/6AR, then make the resizing die-body about 0.030 shorter; use the 0.243 mandrel/primer-poker. Then the seater is simply the Hornady seating body with a 0.243 floating collar as the insert.
So if there's a way to shave 0.030 off the bottom of the resizing body I think we'd, maybe?, be there.
...That is, if the overall body of the 6Arc is identical to the 6-Grrr just 0.030 shorter.

Without diving deep into the specs, I would think you could use 6ppc brass trimmed a bit and either fire formed or sized bumping the shoulder back with 6ppc dies, then fire forming. Something like that could get you started until factory dies and brass exist.

Preferred barrels has it, BFT is in prep to do them too.
Idk about the PB's, they are a 3R which I prefer a 5R groove setup.
edit to add: PB's are a howa type barrel but may not fit in the mfr stock.

I'm hoping the bolt question is just use a mark 136 bolt like our Grrr's.
I'd get one for the new build.
