I joined the forum a couple of years ago, but I haven't been active, I spend most of my time with M14's and AR 308's more than anything.
I first got involved with the Grendel, when I bought a Mini Howa. That little rifle would really shoot, with the Hornady black box 123 ELD's! One of my brothers talked me out of it, and his kids and grand kids have killed a few whitetail deer with it, all one shot kills!
I eventually bought an AR15 upper in 6.5 Grendel, but my shooting buddy talked me out of it, he's very pleased with it! He has shot it quite a bit up to 400 on steel targets, seems to perform good enough with Wolf. We shoot mainly slinged up, we're Appleseeders as well as ol' High Power shooters, hence the sling. That 6.5 rings that steel rather well, a whole lot better than 5.56, that's for sure!
The reason for this post? I was taking inventory of my ammunition, what did I see? A case of 100 grain Wolf and 200 rounds of Hornady 123 ELD's, but no 6.5 Grendel rifle to shoot it! I just happened to have got a flyer from BCA, 20 inch complete upper, $223.00 and change, so I bought it. Probably be here in a couple of weeks. With Wolf, if it will shoot 2.5 MOA and 1-1.5 MOA with the Hornady, I'll be pleased. Actually, I won't get too much heartburn if it's even a little less accurate than what I stated, just as long as it will have some semblance of a group and function correctly. I have a couple of BCA blasters in 5.56, they work, wouldn't take them to a match, though.

If you find it's not quite up to snuff for you, easy enough to replace the barrel. Several guys on here have done that and improved their overall.

Lol a5. Bca will probably meet what's he's looking for which is 1.5 moa. $223 for an upper is pretty great.

A5s advice is accurate.
I build with BCA parts and own 2 BCA uppers. I wouldnt call the barrels garbage,they shoot..But if you want to shoot MOA or better like A5,myself and others,you will need to re barrel.
You can get a pre-fit barrel like a criterion or a Wilson combat.But if you want a guaranteed shooter, go with a custom quality barrel.Lilja,Krieger,Bartlein.Ive gotten several Bartleins,with more on the way. $550. By once cry once.
I can recommend to barrel builders that Ive used. One is Precision Firearms and the other is Craddock Precision. It will take you three months to get your barrel. But I can guarantee you it will definitely be worth the wait.

I have a BCA 18 inch barrel that will shoot 1.25 inch groups (strings of 3) with Hornady 123 gr black and SST.
It has 200 rounds down the tube and could get better with another hundred since it takes these barrels a lot of shots to break in.
It was my first Grendel Barrel. I have acquired a 20 inch Faxon Gunner barrel for my hunting rifle, a 20 inch Ballistics Advantage barrel that I am putting together to to try for small groups and a 12 inch Monster Group Buy Green Mountain barrel for a pistol for home protection and general fun since then. If the Ballistics Advantage barrel doesn't do what I want I will probably get a Lilja or Bartlein.
So you may start with a BCA barrel like a lot of us do, but you will probably wind up with several other brand barrels before too long.
And the BCA barrel is getting passed on to my oldest son since it shoots good enough for hunting.

Thanks all for the input, I like quality firearms and I do know not to expect too much out of the BCA, I'll see how she does and go from there. You have to admit, if she will function and have reasonable accuracy, it's well worth the money. If the barrel proves to be too bad, I'll re-barrel it! I think I know where a Satern barrel and bolt is for sale.
I shoot on a electronic target scoring system(Solo brand), often at 600 yards. We practice NRA High Power and even F Class there often, though the weather has made the range a swampy mess lately. First chance I get, after receiving the BCA, I'll see how she does!

congrats! I spent around that on a 12.5" pistol upper from PSA and it is a great deal for AN UPPER. Some have great luck with BCA accurracy, some do not. My view is that ~220$ is a good price for a receiver, BCG, handguard, with a decent chance at a barrel that would be a keeper...
Keep your brass from the ELD!

It is a crapshoot though with the BCA barrels.Some shoot good, some shoot ok, some shoot bad and some are absolutely horrible. But for the price you paid for the complete upper you got a free barrel anyways. So shoot it and see if it passes muster. If it does great,bonus. If it sucks replace it.

Well like someone else mentioned you cant buy all the parts for an upper for $223. I was checking on parts for my 12 GB Green Mountain barrel. I figured $40 Anderson upper receiver, $15 upper small parts, $15 for charging handle, $70 for cheapest hand guard, $20 gas tube, $30 for gas block plus $75 for Toolcraft BCG, total $365. Even with a cheeper gas block Im still at $350 plus the price of the barrel.
From forum member post the BCA Stainless Steel 6.5 Grendel tend to shoot better and have fewer issues than CMV or their Nitride barrels.
Be sure to let the forum members know how your new upper shoots.

I have a 6.5 Grendel and a 6.5 Creedmoor with barrels from BCA. they both shoot very well, so well in fact I would not hesitate to buy another.

You should do well with Wolf. I have. Several times I have come close to MOA but always have a 5th rd. Flyer to mess it up.
