I received mine yesterday. I had to polish the action a little to get it to feed smoothly but now it feeds like butter. This makes such a huge difference in the gun. I’m really happy this and hokey pokey’s are out. Feeding from the top is tight but you can load from below as well.

Can’t figure out how to post pics from my phone. Will try to post a couple later.

how does the catch for opening the bottom metal work - is it likely to get bumped open in the field?

There is a button on the front of the trigger guard. It could be pushed by a hand or glove but I’m not too worried. It travels parallel to the barrel back toward the trigger so would not be pushed by grabbing the stock. The bottom metal feels good in the hand.

Yes, drop in. Mine was tight on the factory stock but the stock had been painted so had a little paint in the inlet. Nice fit and finish on the metal.

I received mine and I've very happy. My Stock has a couple of layers of paint, so the fit was tight, but a couple light taps and it fit like a custom piece. I found it was easy to load and the floor plate worked perfect. It has a substantial latch, so I don't anticipate any problems with it popping open unintentionally. At first the rounds didn't seem like they wanted to load and feed smoothly, but after loading it about 3 times and running the rounds through the action everything settled in and it worked smoothly. I did find it was pretty tight with 4 down, and I had to work a little with the 4th round to get it seated right. I'll probably never load more than 3 and it ran smooth with 3. It added 1oz to the gun vs the chopped down plastic mag I was using.
