So I have been kicking the can down the road lately, actually for a while. Midsouth shooters supply has had fairly cheap Hornady brass for a while. I now have around 1000 fired, dirty cases needing trimming.
I have the new Dillon XL 750 (it is wonderful, way better than Hornady) and the RT 1500 I got used from Ebay. Where can I get a trim die for the 6.5 Grendel?

No one ?makes? them. All of my trim dies are from Dillon or CH4D. Dillon definitely has something against Grendel. They offer nothing. CH4D is on an 18 month back order currently.
You are going to have to special order one. I had this company make one for me. I have not received it yet, ordered Jan 1. They were pretty easy to deal with. 8 week turn-around. They are pretty well known for good quality dies. They had me send in a fired case and make the trim die based off that. Hopefully it works, it was not cheap.

Dillon hasn't been about innovating dies and trimmers for every caliber. They leave that to those companies. They focus on making the press better. And for most instances, it shows.
They're not what they used to be though, since the old man died. I won't be leaving them any time soon however...

Midway list a LEE trim die and cutter for 6.5 grendel.

Nope -- Dillon doesn't have a Grendel trim die.
7.62 X 39? Probably a lot of chatter providing you can get the Grendel case into the die far enough. I am not sure but it would be worth a try if you had a lot of brass that needed trimming.
It comes down to this though. Does your brass need trimming at all?
I seriously doubt it after one firing. Maybe after ten firings and more likely fifteen.
Measure some of your brass and see. May be an eye opener.
And no, you probably will not see a bit of a difference in performance given some variance in neck length.

Grabbed a fistful of fired unsized brass, and they all measured less than 1.510. Looks like I have time to wait 8 to 18 weeks for a special order from someone.
