Starting to see availability of Hornady 123gr HPBT on Gunbroker and wondering if anyone has been handloading them and what results you?re seeing. Believe it?s same bullet used in Hornady Black 81512 ammo. Post up your experience as able.

Same bullet used in the hornady black 123 hpbt and the hornady American gunner 123 hpbt ammo.
I haven't shot the black hpbt load but have gone throw 11 of the 200 round packs of American gunner. Haven't found a sammi chambered barrel yet that it would do 5 shots at worse 1 1/4 to at best 3/4 inch.
So I would have to belive you take that bullet drop it in a case on top a load of ar-comp in the 27 to 28 grain range and it will have a node that will shot good for you.

Interested to see how they may stack up against 123 Nosler CC and 120gr Gold Dots, how BTO?s compare and to flexibility of nodes. They all seem to be comparably priced, and trying to reserve Scenar stash for 6.5CM?s.

I'm new to the Grendel but glad you mentioned something about the American Gunner. I noticed the American Gunner uses the 123 BTHP but I can't find anything smaller than the 200 round cases. I haven't seen any 50 round boxes like they have for some other calibers. I also noticed that it's not listed on Hornady's website and I can't seem to find the 123 Match (BTHP) bullets by themselves. I use the 140 grain BTHP in my Creedmore and really like them and thought it'd be good to get the smaller size for the Grendel.
Has it always been like this or is Hornady maybe phasing out the BTHPs in favor of the ELDs?

They?re available on Gunbroker. Was interested to see if they?re an ogival shape that requires a shorter OAL/BTO, in much the same way 120 Amax and 123 Amax are drastically different ogival shapes, and hit the lands at different lengths. Also considering 120 Gold Dots in same manner. Would like to load at 2.265-2.27 and neither crowd powder or magazine capacity.
