Recently I have been doing some 10-shot velocity testing with various loads of 6.5G and 223. I have a bolt action and AR in each. When i started working up some loads for Grendel several years ago, I was primarily focused on the 123/120/100gr projectile range. In my trials to find the ultimate loads for my rifle, I bought a few pounds of a variety of powders. BL-C(2), AR-Comp, 8208, CFE-223, Winchester 748 and a few others were in the mix. Landing on the 28gr 8208/123AMAX combo, I was thrilled with the results and that has been my go to load. Now I have some left over powder to burn.
Fast forward to today, and I have been doing some load workups for my 223 bolt and have been experimenting with 53-80gr projectiles. Having fun with charting chrono data for these powders, I thought I would try a variety of projectiles from 90-140gr in Grendel.
I am looking for pet-load recommendations for the powders below. Not necessarily load data, I will gather that myself, but I am looking for bullet weight (no 123 or 120gr please) and powder combinations. In return, I am willing to share any data that I can log for the Howa HB and an 18" barrel AR. Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations!

This combo might not be legal in California but it looks promising enough I loaded 50 for an extended test.
Speer 140 Hot core, Win 748 27.0, CCI 450, Hornady brass, 2.285 oal.

I'm not sure if anything centerfire is allowed in CA anymore, LOL, but i don't really care either.
I like the idea of 140's over the W748. I will definitely give this combo a try! Thanks again for taking the time to share this. I will report back my findings.

A5, I don't think I have any H4895 left, but this might be a worthwhile investment. Velocity looks great and the SD and ES are extremely tight. Thank you for sharing this recipe! 10 @ 200 under an inch is mighty impressive too. Not sure i still have the skills to shoot like that anymore. Getting old eyes sucks!

That's why I got a BIG scope. 27 power really helps my old eyes see it good.

Have you done any development with 129 ABLR/H4895 in your AR's?
If so what kind of results did you get? Sounds interesting.
