Boys,
I?m going to buy a new bipod soon. It is going to be mounted on an m loc hand guard.
I will only be using this for shooting off wooden and concrete shooting benches.
Which Atlas is best for my application......

I purchased an Atlas BT46 LW-17 (5-9 inch) bipod.I had great expectations for it.But,ended up going back to my Harris S-BRM.Don’t get me wrong,the Atlas is a nice bipod.But I just like the Harris better.And you can buy 3 Harris bipeds for the price of one Atlas.Check them both out before you buy.

I also use the BT46 LW-17. Nice bipod, but what you'd expect for the heavy price. If you're shooting off a hard surface these newer Atlas' are the bee's knees. Older models, which I think they still sell (and Chinese knock-off's) have rubber feet that are free to rotate. When you load them up for the shot they crawl forward on the bench.
The Magpul bipod is cheap and cheerful but sits collecting dust. It's just too bulky when folded and no quick detach.
The Harris has a lot going for it and they are quick to deploy. I like to take my bipods on/off regularly so while it's fiddly you get good at screwing it up and finding the stud for the attaching teeth quickly in the dark. I also have a LaRue quick detach for the Harris stud but that just makes it bulkier.
I have seen but not used the GG&G mount. I hear the Chinese clones are pretty good. Unlike other more important parts of the gun a bipod is just there to steady the rifle so it does not have to be ultra-precision-machined. This is why clones might be an option, and why Atlas charges way too much.
If you don't care about quick detach then this might interest you. Badger have made a low profile attachment device that means you can do away with the bulky Harris mounting plate. Nope in Ohio for the holidays. I have a few hog hunts in January and a bunch of duck hunts. My deer season is over with 0 deer again this year. South Florida public land is hard for deer. I saw a bunch of doe but no bucks.

I bought an Atlas from LaRue. The QD works as advertised, and LaRue adds some swivel/cant ability that I'm not remembering on my buddies Atlas.
I love it. The thing that I like most about it is the overall quality and quiet deploy. I've put it down, and moved it to different positions with deer at my feet. They never knew I was there.
Solid as a rock. And positive lock up in any position.

Got my Atlas BT46 LW-17 in the post today. It is even nicer than Klem and Whitetails said it was.
Bigs you have got to see this thing, it is absolutely fantastic. Bigs I am the only one in the Vile Horde that can?t figure out how to send pictures. It?s got to be a UGA thing...... Ducks are just fooding into Reelfoot in Tenn, in the river not the lake.
Going to shoot steel with it Thursday.

I went from a Harris to an Atlas CAL bipod and can?t be happier. You should love the PSR. If you find you can?t get the pan tightened down enough take a look at the Victor Company Atlas wrench. It?s supposed to really tighten everything up when you don?t want it to pan
