VTAC low profile sling mount problem - vanguard138 - 01-22-2012
I just purchased a VTAC sling along with a VTAC low profile sling mount and QD swivels. Neither QD swivel will secure in the LPSM but both will secure in my stock so the issue is with the LPSM. Has anyone who has one of these had this issue and is there a quick and easy fix? Hope to avoid having togo through the hassle of trying to get a replacement if I can avoid it.

A lot of the Chinese-made QD swivels are under-sized, but will lock into certain sockets, but not all. I deal with this issue all the time, and so far, the least common denominator has been Chinese QD swivels. Get some ones that you know to be US-made and they will work. A lot of places try to hide the origin of their components, while others are up-front about it. The difference in retail price is $9 Chinese, $12-$14 US.

I would suspect the swivels also. Not that there can't be a bad one, but I have a couple of Vtac LPSM's and haven't had any issues.
Did your swivels come from Vtac with the sling and sling mount?

They are VTAC LPSM and stamped as such but from another vender as VTAC was out of stock. Also I find it strange that I could not find any contact info on the VTAC website.

The QD swivels came directly from VTAC with the sling.

Only last thought is be sure the swivels are fully seated in the base.

Thanks Drifter. I should have clarified that I did not locate contact info on their website bit it was on the invoice I received from them. Not sure why I missed it on the web. I did not get the LPSM from VTAC direct though as they were out of stock. Got it from Tactical Distributors who I have never dealt with before. Hopefully a guick exchange will happen.

I contacted Viking Tactics today. They had a manufacturing issue with this mount with the last order. It is being "reengineered" and should be available in a couple weeks. I contacted Tactical Distributors and let them know of the issue and I am returning the product. Vicking stated that their LUSA would work but I will wait for the LPSM.

Good to hear. I have no connections with Vtac, but had a feeling that you would be treated appropriately.

Thanks. Tactical Distributors sent an called today saying that Viking was sending me one. According to them they are in. If so they must have come in after I called yesterday.
