Low Mass BCG - Jeepster18_88 - 12-14-2019
I ordered what I thought was stripped low Mass Bolt carriers from KM Tactical for $55. I received complete BCGs so now I have 3 spare bolts for my 5.56 along with the other internals since I bought them at the same time from JoeBobs. They seem to be well made and light weight so it might be a good affordable option for someone wanting to try out the low Mass bolts to see what difference it makes.

They seem to be GTG! I just got finished building two and fired one today beside my other Grendel with a regular bolt and it definitely had a lighter recoil to it. This is my first complete build and first adjustable gas block. Still have a lot to learn but I'm liking it so far.

Low Mass BCG - LRRPF52 - 01-01-2020
Biggest thing you need to account for with Low-Mass carriers is unlocking time.
They are meant for race guns in competition where minimal reciprocating mass effects are desired (less weight banging around in the gun, throwing your sight picture off-TGT).
If you have early unlocking with residual stress on the lugs, and now compound that with torsion on the lugs, it can lead to early lug failure, no matter the cartridge.
The longer you can keep the bolt locked, the better.
Adding recoil spring weight can help with this, along with adjustable gas.
Most Low-Mass carriers are advertised or were designed with use in conjunction with adjustable gas, and JP is the first one to do this as far as I know.

I would not use a lightweight BCG with out an adjustable gas block. I like Superlative Arms adjustable gas blocks.
