Well my deer hunt this year didn't go as smoothly as planned... We were hunting on the border, literally less than a mile away, we knew it was heavily traveled by illegals, but haven't had any issues to date. We setup camp (miles from any cell service) and had a damn cartel scout come through camp that day as we were setting up. Then the next two days we also had a migrant each day wander into camp. On opening day we also ran into a few drug mules in the wash below us. When they saw us glassing them they gave us the good ole crotch grab followed by the middle finger.

Evening of opening day I helped my buddy get his first ever deer, 690 yards! That mountain was so steep it took 2.5hrs just for my buddy to hike up to it. While humping his down we ran into another group of hunters on the same hill who had a dandy of a buck. No other bucks for the next few days and we decided to break camp a cple days early b/c of all the illegals we were encountering in camp.

Today we went back out to try and fill my tag. Glassed up some awesome country but it was just so darn windy nothing was moving. We were about to call it a day and started driving down the road when a darn buck who was bedded just 100 yards to our side jumped. I was able to get him to stop about 75 yards away and I took a standing unsupported shot. Put a 123gr SST in the heart and it was game over. All the work I put into dope charts and load work expecting a long range shot like every other year was pointless lol.

yeah it's no joke... chatting with one of the BP guys who came to get them from us... they have hundreds of Hondurans a day just crossing and surrendering. The guy at night was a honduran. It really is a non stop influx of people crossing...

The spot where we glassed up the two with backpacks full of drugs (square bricks inside of them). The border was nothing more than a line on a GPS map.

This is where we saw those drug mules... in the wash below us... According to my GPS the border literally runs through the middle of this picture... According to my buddy's gps we were actually in Mexico
