6.5 Grendel Number 5 - shooter545 - 11-05-2019

I finally got this together almost a month ago but because fo work travel only got to shoot it about two weeks ago. I was able to get on the 600 yard range for most of a day. We were hitting the 600 yard half IPSC steel target with ease off a bipod.

It likes Hornady American Gunner but will be hand loading for it as soon as I get off the work trip that I am on.

Build list.
LaRue billet upper and lower
Young?s NM bolt carrier
Maxim Firearms bolt
Craddock Precision Bartlein18? fluted stainless with RLGS
Lancer carbon fiber hand guard
Radian Raptor LT charging handle
SLR adjustable gas block
Surefire muzzle brake
MagPul PRS stock and grip
Vortex PST II 3X15 in LaRue mount
Larue MBT trigger

Very nice.

I like that handguard. How solid is it with a bipod?

6.5 Grendel Number 5 - shooter545 - 11-07-2019

Very solid. You will be hard pressed to flex that carbon fiber hand guard by loading up on the bipod.

Can’t do much better than a Bartlein barrel from Paul Craddock. My Bartleins are amazingly accurate and required no break in.

Side topic, whereabouts is the shooting range, and is it public? I'm in upstate SC and looking for one to stretch the legs on a couple of rifles.

What a great looking rifle, and that parts list is mighty impressive, as is the group.

6.5 Grendel Number 5 - shooter545 - 11-09-2019

Thank you Sir. I wanted to build this one out of all the good stuff. I am home from a work trip and am going to try some hand loads in it this weekend.

Very nice.

6.5 Grendel Number 5 - LRRPF52 - 11-13-2019

Looks like a shooter.

Will tighten up even more with load development.

Is it MLGS or ILGS?

6.5 Grendel Number 5 - shooter545 - 11-13-2019

I went with RLGS. I think that when tuned they shoot softer and in SOME cases more accurate but I only have anecdotal evidence of that no any real proof.

If you ever do any cold weather hunting you will appreciate that hand guard, you have excellent tastes in parts that is for certain!

Appreciate the offer Cutt, but that's a little further drive than I can manage.
