For me having a light trigger w/clean break is very important.Always the first thing I do with any pre built AR15 lower I buy,is change out the mil spec trigger.
Ive spent anywhere from $150-$300ea for the drop in triggers Ive bought and installed.And I have quite a few lowers.This last lower,I wanted to go lower budget.
I got a Palmetto state Armory AR15 MOE lower.Has an Enhanced polished trigger that is coated with slick nickel.It broke at 5lbs,out the box.The price was $149 delivered to FFL + Transfer fee.
I went ahead and installed a $10.99 JP reduced power spring kit.After working it a few times,I got a 3.5 pull on my gauge.And it feels good.And appears to get better the more I use it.
My only concern is that the JP spring kit is reduced power.When I had the upper off and was playing with the trigger,primer strike feels noticeably lighter.I am hoping it does not result in primer ignition failures.
Slapped an upper on it and commenced to shooting.I like it.No problems so far.Trigger is light enough and breaks cleanly.I hit steel @ 200 every time.Feels and shoots as good as any lower I own.
Still,I am concerned about the reduced power.Wondering if any one out there,who has installed a JP reduced power spring kit has had failure to fire issues with it.

probably wont have an issue outside of mil grade primers like cci 41 or wolf/tula

I have just about every AR trigger made Jard, Geiselle, MBT, Rock River, Timney, ELF a few that the name escapes me. For me the trigger is the most important thing as I generally target shoot. I like them to be about 2lbs or less. When I shot Black Powder years ago the set trigger let off was in ounces.

Trigger is very important to me, but doesn't have to be very expensive to get a decent trigger. I really like the TriggerTech drop ins and have several Timney triggers, but they're expensive so I don't put that nice of trigger in all my guns. Quite a few have PSA triggers that I polish up with dremel, bob the hammer, and swap in some JP red springs.. they're pretty darn good for the price with just a little work.

Trigger is important to me and i really like the larue. For $80 i don't see myself buying anything else atm.

To me, a trigger doesn't need to be super light. But it has to be consistent.

A good crisp trigger is very important. Most of the AR triggers out of the box, the ones I can afford, are junk. I can take that junk trigger, take it apart, and work it into something I can call really good. It takes a lot of time and that is something I have a lot of. It can be done and that is what I do and can afford.

I use a lot of the JP reduced power spring kits in my standard ARs and drop ins or 2 stage triggers for my Varmint rifles.

In the past for testing reloads I've been using Hiperfire's eclipse model and love it. But now that I'm getting into PRS I'm looking at the SSA-E and other 2 stage triggers. I've never used the SSA-E but its stats look great and of course lots of great reviews like A5's mention above. I've got a few of the Geissele's SSA triggers and they've been excellent over the yrs.

I haven't used the JP reduced power spring kit Flshooter so I can't comment there. My eclipse takes extra power springs to ignite hard primers and it adds about an extra .3 - .5 pound to the trigger pull. So if reliability is important I'd stay away from anything reduced power. Nothing against JP of course, I have some of their products as well and their top shelf. Just depends on the primer cup hardness pretty much. If you reload or use quality factory ammo you should be fine with JP I suspect.

If the barrel is the heart of a firearm, the trigger is the CNS. I'd spend money on both of these first on any build list. Thankfully, Mark LaRue gets it, and leaves room in my budget for other nicer parts thanks to his $89 dollar MBT2S's. I really can't say enough good about them. I'm putting a flat bow 2s in my BCM carbine as soon as I see one.

Lots of great advice already. I’m like Lowell higley, I take a GI trigger of good quality, clean it up and caress the angles a touch, add JP springs and a set screw through grip screw hole and call it good. On my precision rigs I run jard and Timney. I’ve yet to try the larue but plan to on my next build.

MGy other ARs have MBTs in them, while the Grendel has a Calvin Elite. My other long range gun has a Jewell HVRS set at 2#. It can be set to under 2oz, but I don't feel comfortable with one that light on a fifty. A really good trigger can make all the difference.

I can shoot a heavy trigger as long as it is constant, I do prefer a lighter trigger.
I too tried several special AR triggers, including drop in triggers. I would like to have the cash back that I spent on them once I tried a La Rue MBT trigger.

A trigger isn't important to me at all honestly. Unless you have trigger that makes you strain and shake when trying to pull it (like a recurring dream I have) then you don't need a different one. I have several I end triggers like geissele and I also have several mil-spec ones that I can shoot just as well. Is it nice to have a light crisp trigger pull? Of course. Is it fun to tinker and swap thing out? Definitely. Is it necessary? Absolutely not. I say before anyone buys a new fancy trigger they need to take the same amount of money they would spend on that, put it into ammo and just work the fundamentals with it. Dry fire is even better too cause it's free. For one the trigger might smooth out a little after a couple thousand reps and for two you will get that muscle memory down so that you don't really think about the trigger pull and just focus on maintaining proper target alignment. That's just my 2 cents

I did not realize how important a trigger is until i switched to a two stage trigger. It helped me to tighten my groups.

Having a reliable trigger is important.
My personal feeling is that you should have a trigger that makes you feel comfortable and enjoy shooting. I picked up a MBT for my build and honestly my ability to shoot tight groups didn't really change much at all over the Mil-Spec trigger.
What it did do is give me a trigger that I enjoyed using, which got me to the range more, which improved my groups. I also can't blame the trigger when I know it can do a better job than I can.

Another thought for you FL - when I started building and shooting ARs, I was ignorant to what a trigger was. Especially in an AR. After reading the abundant posts on the subject, I was intrigued. So, after buying an MBT for I think it was 199, (at that time if you "wanted one now, this was the price
I was sold. The trigger makes so much more difference than almost anything else you can do.
