Finally got out with my 2 6.5 Grendel Bolt Actions! Howa Mini 1500 in the B&C stock and my new CZ 527 MTR.
The Howa did well, but I need to get used to shooting again. I tried some reloads with my old ammo and then some using my new Forster dies. Stock was comfy and plenty stiff!
The MTR really loved Hornady Black ammo! Pic is of 2 of the groups of the Hornady Black. I have a box of 123 ELDM bullets, now I need to work on the powder charge!

I found the scope rings were loose on the rail when I got home, so now I gotta work up those loads again after I tightened down the rings. I also did a quick front and rear pillar on the rifle as well; it only had a rear pillar and there was a plastic spacer behind the recoil lug, so I JB Kwik Weld bedded the recoil lug, new slightly taller roll pin pillars like I did on my 223 527.

Got some decent groups with 120gr Gold Dots today. 31.2gr Leverevolution, seated to 1.695 and 1.705 COL. It was a bit breezy and the trigger needs some work, but its starting to get there! Most of the other groups were around 1-1.25" for 5 shots, so its pretty consistent.

Got the trigger figured out; I had it adjusted so there was a ton of gritty pretravel, which is gone now with a nice, crisp 3# break. Got Leupold QRW2 rings, which are much better than the cheapo amazon rings that were on it.

I think it was cz-usa scope rail causing the loose rings. 50 rds today with the DIP rail and Leupold rings, scope stayed tight on the rail.[ATTACH=CONFIG]14336[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]14337[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]14338[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]14339[/ATTACH]
ELD-M works well; the 3 shot cluster with the 2 out was doing great for the first 3 shots, then the others were way out. It was a bit breazy, too. The gold dot load, I pulled #4 out, but the other 4 cut one hole. The 27.3 ARC at 1.66 has potential with the breeze today, too.
Feeding from the mag is a bit rough if the bullets are over 2.25" OAL; the tips tend to stub into the feed ramp.

I enjoy your posts, but they would be even better if you would tell us which dang rifle your using in each of them. So is the 31.2 LVR @ 2680 FPS load shot in the CZ or the Howa?

hi, found a used Grendel on GB and it finally arrived at the GS, but looking at a different mounting system for it before i make the trip to pick it up. are you still running the DIP adapter or did you go back to the CZ with the better rings? I was thinking about doing a 1 pc mount so i could take the scope and use it on different rifles. Any thought on this? how goes the load development?

I have the Cz 527 American in 6.5 Grendel with Dip 25 MOA mount. The Dip mount is very rigid and not something you’d want to remove once installed. I guess you could use quick release rings and move the scope to a different rifle. I personally try to have an optic for every gun if not iron sights. I do have a couple of extra cheaper scopes and mounts I use on new guns or if I have a problem with a scope.

If wanting to use the scope o different guns go with the DIP mount. Depending on plans use either the 25MOA or the 0MOA mount. Some regular hunting type scopes wih 1" tube might not have enough adjustment to be sighted in at 100 yards with the 25 MOA DIP rail.

thanks guys i ordered the dip in 25moa all that was available. just an fyi i went with a higher end Athlon glass so i'd like to move it between a few rifles other than just the grendel for deer. most of mine have a scope per but can't always justify that. any of you guys have pics to share of your setup? most of my deer is 0-250 yards.

I still have the DIP rail on the rifle. The CZ rail seemed to be narrow and the rings often loosened up when shooting. I haven't had time to go shooting much lately due to work.
