Deer season is getting short here in Texas. Rocksprings has plenty more to offer than just deer hunting. What projectile will you be using in our hunting setup? I have a good friend who is at his lease this week in Rocksprings.

IMHO, Rocksprings is overrun by whitetail and axis. Most of the whitetail appear to be on the smallish size, but the axis bucks were 200+ lbs.
I was a guest on the lease and the only deer available to me this time were whitetail doe. I was shooting a 123 SST handload and it performed flawlessly and dropped a whitetail doe where she stood.
I'm looking forward to going back soon and doing some predator control.

You hunt any other parts of texas? I hunt in the Sam Houston National Forest and have access to a very small 20 acres, private land that I help take care of. Will be doing some hog management once deer season is over.

I have limited access to several hundred acres near Bedias, TX, but I rarely ever go there. Last I heard there are plenty of hogs to shoot though.

How is the hunting up in Sam? You ever see anything?
