After speaking with a friend who has a 243 LBC upper for his AR about the assembled Larue UU I ordered last week, he intimated that an AGB was going to be a must for running suppressed 100% of the time.
I use one on my 12” .308 upper that’s run suppressed full-time, but haven’t seen the AGB ‘requirement’ mentioned here or elsewhere for the 6.5G in general or the Larue UU upper specifically.
I’m having Larue leave the tranqilo brake off my upper as I’ll Rocksett an AAC 51T brake/suppressor mount once I get the upper in hand, but I could also install an AGB at that time if one is really needed.
Any insights are welcomed

It may depend on the can used. AFAIK the port was made to work with the Tranquilo brake and can which claims less back pressure. From the LaRue forums the SLR adjustable gas blocks seem to be a popular choice for those running other cans or who just want more control. Other variables will be ammo and temperature. The SLR 3 screw with 0.450" spacing models are the ones you'd want to look at.

All my ar's have agb. Why not just make it standard. They are not expensive upgrades.

18" MLGS with a suppressor that generates a lot of back-pressure is a recipe for early unlocking and excessive wear on the extractor and bolt, even in 5.56 NATO.
I would consider cutting the barrel length and permanently attaching the AAC 51T with pin & weld, bringing your barrel to 16".
I would then use the Bootleg Adjustable gas block.
Or you could just use the Tranquilo and Tranquilo suppressor without modifying anything, as it's designed to work with the system.

Investing in another suppressor isn’t happening at this point, and chopping the barrel and pinning the mount would seem to defeat the purpose of going with the Larue kit from the start.
I was looking into the Bootleg bolt carrier. A buddy uses one on his suppressed 300BO running supers and likes it. Does it cut down on bolt velocity/early unlocking just like an adjustable gas block, or is it a half measure compared to regulating the amount of gas that enters the system at the very beginning?
I’ll be using an AAC SDN-6 30cal can, so there’s a bit more volume and a larger bore, compared to a dedicated 6.5 suppressor.
Guess I’ll see what happens with the Hornady AG ammo and OEM Larue bits go from there.

Oh, the suppressor for sure. One does not simply buy a LaRue just to circumcise it's glory.
If the dems get their way, and in a few years I'd lay money they will, they aim to align the stamp tax with what it should cost considering inflation. Someone was discussing this last year with a dem senator who said they're looking hard at this because it's likely something they could get done. Something about the "intent" of the tax stamp and it's purpose to reduce the number of folks that could afford to pay it... The way the reps are getting their butts handed to them on every issue under the sun, I can really see them bending over on this one. Especially if it comes after another God forbid mass shooting...
