...6.5 Creedmoor, that is.
Stiller special-run action with built-in 20MOA rail, Krieger 24" 1:8 6.5CM Palma contour barrel threaded 5/8x24, Accuracy International AX chassis, Jewell trigger, Nightforce F1 in Nightforce 1.375" rings. Below it is my 6.5 Grendel 18.25" SPR.
I really love those 6.5 bullets.

Yep - imagine a Grendel stretched to fit a .308 action. That 6.5 Creedmoor 24" barrel can push 129gr SSTs close to 3000fps, and the 140gr 6.5 bullets to 2850fps. As you can imagine, it's just a wee bit easier to reach that 1,000 yard target with the extra MV.

The 6.5 creedmoor makes me drool! I like it better than the 260 rem. because I understand that it has a greater range of 6.5 bullets / including the "longer ones" to allow it to cycle in an AR-15 mag where the 260 wouldn't with the same bullet. Since you can reload for that round with no problem I might consider that as my second rifle build. Still, the Grendel appeals to me in the AR-15 for my first rifle, seeing as how I won't build one again for a long time. Both of those guns are beautiful.

It's a necked down .308 case to fit a .264 (6.5mm) bullet. The ballistic coefficient of the Creedmoor's 140 grain A-Max is phenomenal compared to the best .308 bullets out there.
