First AR! - Hoz - 12-17-2011 Hi guys, I picked up my first AR today (6.5 Grendel). It is pretty plain for now, I gotta save up some more mad money for the upgrades. I'd talk to somebody about that, just kidding but a little confused, rifle or pistol? First AR! - Hoz - 12-17-2011 I bought the pistol because I live/hunt in Wisconsin (shotgun area). It is legal for whiteytails as a pistol, not as a rifle. I will be buying a stock for it also though, just cant use it while hunting. I've been shooting all my life and built two AR's and have plans for a third, I don't think it'll ever end. First AR! - Whelenon - 12-18-2011 "Shotgun only" has been on the books for as long as I can remember, mostly the southeast counties of WI. The thinking was a slug is safer in more populated ares because it doesn't carry as far a rifle round. Someone did a statistical study of deer hunting accidents for the last umpteen years and numbers didn't support the assumption.
