Problem with my Group Buy Bolt - stuck ejector - HuntTXhogs - 04-17-2018 I’ve got 125 rounds on this bolt and tonight during a hunt the rifle experienced a number of failures I.e. jams At the end of the hunt after having tried multiple magazines I inspected the bolt and identified the source of the problem. I've had that, shaving/s get sucked down into the ejector shaft. If that does turn out to be the case, possible ejector round-off of the end may be in order. Might want to take a closer look for ejector swipes on your last rounds fired. Problem with my Group Buy Bolt - stuck ejector - HuntTXhogs - 04-18-2018 My brass looks fine - running 120 grain bullets at 2446 FPS so not concerned that their hot loads I noticed some build up on the front beveled edge of the relieved area of the ejector where the cross pin lives. I didn’t feel as though it was enough substance to lock and hold the ejector in but like belly button lint I cleaned it out and went about my day.... I have a lightweight BCG and standard carbine buffer running, if the ejector ever sticks again I’ll maybe throw in a standard BCG and see if results vary But I’m hoping for no more issues Problem with my Group Buy Bolt - stuck ejector - LRRPF52 - 04-20-2018 See how much brass shaving residue has accumulated around one edge of your ejector channel rim? On looking closer at your other picture, it appears that there is a raised surface around the ejector channel edge on the bolt face. Those sharp edges are shearing a lot of brass of the case heads, and that shaved brass is being driven down into the ejector channel with each cycling of the action when cycling ammo. I would carefully take that edge off of the ejector channel and polish the bolt face. This is a common trick on custom guns for High Power, in addition to extractor tuning, ejector radiating and polishing, lapping the lugs into the extension, etc.
