some 3000 years ago, David's sling and his bag with 5 smooth stones would then have been classified as an assault weapon. And, he used it to take down the bad guy. I don't remember reading about any 30.06 or 30.07 decals on the flaps of any of their tents, either! I believe that open carry was even legal then.

It's nothing new. 3,000 years ago they were banning the equivalent of gunsmiths and machinists so they could oppress people.
