Thinking of changing scopes. Heard a lot of good things about the Vortex Scopes. I have a Leupold 2.5-8X36(weight 11oz) on my Grendel, considering a Vortex 2.5-10X44(weight 18oz). Do you think this is a step-up? Weight is important so I don't think I want to go much bigger on glass.
Also, anyone have an extra Larue LT104 Scope Mount for sale?

I have the 2.5-10x44 PST and it is a great scope...was just shooting with it today. It is very light, and holds up well through significant temp shifts, and returns to zero. The turrets, reticle, and zero-stop are some of the best features about it. I just compared it with one of the new Leupold Mk IV 1.5-6x turrets, and they were mushy, whereas the Vortex is extremely crisp and tactile.
The only things I wish I had in the 2.5-10x44 would be Side-Focus, and FFP, but those both add hundreds of dollars to any scope, and I got it for around $600 from Liberty Optics. I shoot on 10x for my long-range work anyway, so the scope is built just right for its price point.
I would put one on an 16" barreled Grendel and up. You will want a 20 MOA base if you plan on stretching the legs of the cartridge further than 800yds I would say.
