[COLOR="blue"]In a series of experiments this year, units from 2nd Marine Division will be silencing every element of an infantry battalion -- from M4 rifles to .50 caliber machine guns.

The direction the military is going will be to a pinned suppressor with barrels as short as 11.5 inches with the suppressor partly contained within the forward handguard. All AR platforms will be 16 inch barrels or shorter.
