i have read steel mag. should be lubed? i just started using silicone spray what and how do you lube mag's?

Take them apart clean them make sure things are dry put them back together and oil them. When new I clean them and oil them and leave them on a towel on a table and every time I walk by them I turn them a 1/4 turn for a couple days after that clean and oil with Hoppes or the CLP what ever it is called the red stuff!?? No problems BANG BANG!!
An add on, I run ASC mags and have had no other mags in my rifles. After a while (many rds) I clean and a little dab will do ya. Then I clean and oil like any other part of my rifle/s. BANG BANG!!

I never apply lubricant to magazines.
Reason is that I don't want primers to get inactivated, but it would take a lot of oil to make that happen.
Quality mags are coated with a dry lubricant anyway.
The Elanders are very slick mags out of the bag.
Mil-std for M16/M4 mags is dry film lube, like the inside of the upper receiver and the receiver extension tube.
