I love my WCI Grendel Brake!!!! - QuadCam - 10-05-2011
Well, I finally got back to the range after sending my upper back to AA to fix a couple issues.
On one of my last outings, I was having cycling issues, ejection issues, and some other things. At that time, I also just installed my new WCI brake. I really couldn't get a good feel for it. It almost felt like I was getting more recoil now. It was really strange. Upon recoil, the rifle was really moving alot...making quick follow up shots difficult. I think my buffer was bottoming out at the back of the buffer tube......
Well..... after several suggestions and advice from many of you, I decided to get a heavier buffer. I was using a basic milspec carbine buffer, tube, and spring. After plenty of research, I bought the Vltor A5 buffer system. Basically, the A5 system uses a buffer that is about .75" longer than a milspec tube. It also uses a constant rate spring and a special rifle-weight buffer.
With the new Vltor A5 in place and some fixes to the upper from AA, I was finally able to test out the WCI brake...
WHAT A CREAMPUFF!!!!! that is the best way to describe the recoil now! It is amazing. I was shooting indoors so the brake really made some noise!! hahaha! poor pistol shooters next to me! After the first shot, I had 3 people peering into my lane to see what I was shooting. It was pretty amusing. At any rate, I shot 40 rounds (20 Wolf MPT, 20 Hornady Amax) to test everything out and my shoulder didn't even feel like I been shooting at all.
So, if you are thinking about getting a brake for your grendel......don't hesitate. Order the WCI brake; you won't be disappointed!

I'm thinking of getting one. I have one of those on my bullpup Bushmaster and love it. How does it compare to the other break, the M-GMMB34?

id like t see how it feels compaired to my bwa on my grendel ill have to shoot justins beside mine if i like i {i do like the looks} loki might have to make a good sized order from you mr warped ..have been selling alot of grendels lately
