So....
Not an expert but am very interested to know.
Compound throat or not (70 deg) as is common in our AR 15 style???
Can you load mag length and still be close to the "lands", in the test rifles??
Or will they be built with a long throat as are most factory rifles???
Are the test rifles EXACTLY built the same as the street rifles will be???
Any accuracy info yet???

Matt of LSI (importers of Howa) has stated that he assumes Howa will chamber using the 6.5 Grendel SAAMI chamber, which is the compound throat.
A couple here have shot the Howa 65G mini bolt-action prototype; they can speak to accuracy. I believe Bill Waites got 4-plus inch groups at 100 yards with my prototype bullets, but then turned around and got a 0.5-inch five-shot group with the Berger 130 OTMs. Don't know if he shot factory ammo or other loads. He, and others, can better speak to the accuracy, however.
My opinion? Still too early to tell. But the conventional wisdom is that Howa builds solid products.
