MONSTER barrels have a gas journal length of about 1.30. This accomodates the vast majority of 1.0" gas blocks up to the JP adjustable at 1.3.
An A2 front sight tower requires 1.9", but I haven't seen one of those since 1972. KIDDING!

[FONT=&]SAAMI spec for 224V lists a 90gr @ 2,700 fps.[/FONT]
[FONT=&]SAAMI spec for 6mmARC lists a 108gr @ 2,700 fps.[/FONT]
Berger's classic 6mm 105gr Hybrid has a 0.536 BC.
[FONT=&]Bergers new .224 85.5gr Hybrid has a 0.524 BC.

[FONT=&]Bergers new 6mm 109gr Hybrid has a 0.568 BC.
Both of those bullets to Berger's credit are amazing bullets.[/FONT]
[FONT=&]Launched at roughly the same muzzle velocity, however, theres no way the lower BC bullet is gonna catch the higher BC bullet.[/FONT]
[FONT=&]If a competitor is looking for every little edge at long range in an AR, the 6mmARC has it.[/FONT]

Thinking about the 6mmARC inspired me to again pester Berger for a new generation of 6.5mm 120 bullets. See attached, which I posted on Berger's Twitter feed. (Why should 6mm get all the love?
)Using one of Berger's existing hybrid ogive bullet noses this 120gr should have a ballistic coefficient (BC) of about 0.595 at about 2500 fps.

Berger ... Hornady ... anybody. This weight class is ripe for the picking. Nosler could own it with a 120 version of their 130 RDF.

The Hornady 105 BTHP has an advertised G1 of .530 and you can find them readily for .20 a piece! Or, almost -40% less than the Bergers. Not knocking the Bergers, just saying theres a comparable, cheap, plinking alternative already available too.

No pic but the billet is .02 inches smaller diameter and .
Case body .03 inches shorter, along the same lines the case overall length is .03 shorter. Basically at a glance it will be hard to desguish one from the other

So here I sit with two 6mm AR's -- 1 that is printing 3/8" groups with a 107 grain SMK @ 2760 fps and the other is getting interesting. Should I care about another new cartridge?

No.
Why spend more money too add complication to the loading bench to achieve what you already have.
I thought I would have my 6mm ARC barrel by now but guess things happen, so looks like I will have to find anouther barrel supplier to source a testing barrel from.
