Great news.....thanks for taking the time to get the dope on his shop and capabilities, as very few have the knowledge to talk shop on the proper specs (I am not one of them). I too hope this pans out.....looks as if the group buy may be moving faster than expected if everything continues to fall into place. Alot of solid effort by many.

I talkeed to Frank today too and had been talking to him months ago about bolt carriers. As you said he has big deliveries and our needs he wants to help out. He is willing to make the run and put some on the shelf and help out any of these other manufactures who need the 6.5 Type II bolts. It's just an upfront expense and he doesn't want any money from us, just wants to make sure others don't do the same think he is going to do. So that being said, he will let us know Monday as to what the company will do.
He did log onto the forum and read everyone's comments and concerns. I asked him to sign up so if your reading this just join in on the fun Frank....
One thing was told to me is the material used on the enhanced bolts is 9310 which is harder/stronger than the Carpenter 158 used on other carrier parts and less powerful cartridges. Due to the Grendel pressures of 50,000psi and people hand-loading a hot load, the bolt needs to be rated a little higher, 62,000psi or so. That is why the Carpenter 158 had issues and the "Enhanced Bolt" was made. I am pretty sure the main difference was the material, 9310.
If someone know's exactly the specs. for the material used on the Grendel Bolts, please confirm what I said is correct. Frank is willing to use what ever material we need.

I'd be very surprised if anyone would chamber many barrels using one "slave" bolt to set the head space, no matter how tight the tolerances on the barrel extensions are. It'll be interesting to read what Dan L. has to say about that suggestion.

I had talked to Dan and as I understood it this is normal practice when producing his current drop in AR15 barrels. I'll email again with this plan to see what he says though if some people would like me too.
Their email is still down. I got fed up with this issue today and faxed him the email I had been trying to send him.

...Truthfully Maxim does make Bolt Carriers so maybe he will offer the entire BCG.Frank you out there, we need more stuff from ya.... truthfully when I first met Frank it was about Bolt Carriers. he make a quality Bolt Carrier and takes pride in that too. He's having a meeting with company folks Monday to discuss the Grendel Bolt Deal so give him time to chime in and he'll let us know what he's doing. He's a family man, runs a big operation business and plays too, with bad aSS Rifles, bigger than Grendels...Big Boyz with Big Toyz.. I think that fits lots of us here on this forum...

I got ya, I'm trying to talk a group of my friends into the same thing. I need to get them to the range and see how mine is doing so they can put there 556's in the safe. Like I have for the most part. i shot my 556 more today than I have in 3 months, the kid and wife wanted to shoot and gota save my Grendel Ammo...

Just talked to Frank hes researching where to get 9130 steel because normally he makes his bolts 223 bolts from carpenter 158 steel.
