I did some dry runs on my new ASC mags, unmodified. They do seem to feed more smoothly, especially where the bolt first strikes the follower in the rear. Not going to cut any springs just yet, will cycle these for a few more rounds and see how it goes. They do seem to be a bit better than the Cpd dura mag that I've got working, so for now I'm pretty set.
I'll be devoting most of the shooting from the Rap to 123 sst and 120 gold dots for now.

I spent hours playing with different mags before arriving on the Spring Tension being an issue and how much better the ASC's work verses others. (And again, the ASC's are the worse in my AR)!
Another issue on the RAP is the action torque on the bolts. If you cannot get 100% functionality, check the torque. I want to say Ruger's torque spec is somewhere around 70 inch/lbs. Mine were WAY over tightened. Taking the action off and using a Fat Wrench at 60 inch/lbs torqued evenly helped greatly though using blue lock thread and torquing to 55 inch/lbs was what I eventually used plus an ASC mag. Now that I have 300 plus rounds through the gun, I can actually use my Elanders without a hiccup. They are fussy with a lot of deviation in the stock between the magazine lockup on the stock and the action. It is the cheaper of the three bolt gun offerings and for a reason. They aren't perfect but they are accurate. They remind me of my 308 and 243 788 Remington bolt guns. They were cheap. No frills! Crappy soft maple stocks I believe and ugly looks. But...................boy were they accurate!

Only problem I have had which I posted around a month ago was that the bolt would sometimes get stuck after a shot. Not to where I had to use a mallet. I had to hit it with the palm of my hand and work in a bit to get it to open.
It did it four times in the first hundred rounds.I cleaned the barrel and the bolt functioned well. But through the next hundred rounds I had the bolt get tight on me a few times after shots. Not stuck tight, but I had to work it a bit to get it to pull it back.
FL, there is a company in FL I think, Glades? Armory - they have bolt-replacement/bolt handles for the RAP that give you the extra leverage... I put it on my 243 RAP and it's doing super. Longer Tactical-style like some you see on Savages and Remmy's. About $60 and not too difficult to put on yourself.

That is why I chose the RAP.Because everything is upgradeable.And aftermarket parts are readily available.
