The diagram lists a folding stock mechanism the stock doesn't come with. I believe that's what they're referring to.

They have changed the installation of that stock over the years and still use the original instructions. One countersunk screw replaces the socket cap screw when assembling the stock without the butt pad and the other socket cap screw is used to lock the stock.
