They charged an extra 10 bucks. Well worth it in my opinion. They gave a picture of the 5.56 x-comp on their website, thats where I got the idea.

I think for $35 I'm going with this from Brownells. It's going on my 16" barrel and its .70 at the threads so this will be a sleek not taper screw on Muzzle device. In Stock.

By far Ross Shulers custom brakes, I have one on 2 of my AR's (One Satern 6.5 G and one 300AAC) and one on my 260 Remington Bolt Rifle. My 7yo loves shooting my 300 Pistol with it on there. Ross is VERY fast in shipping and will do any thread and any length. He will get it to you faster than Midway and cheaper too. I will never do another Rifle without one again. Doesnt even add a bunch of noise like most of them either.

I have Nordic Components Extended Rifle Length. Inexpensive @ $99. But I got my last one from http://www.makereadyproshop.com/product-p/nc-hg-xl.htm for $95.
Also look at Nordic Components web site. Go to AR-15 and Hand Guards. They make all of the HG on there site so you see the other manufactures name. NC is a top quality manufacture for half the price with there name on it. They also make the receiver sets for them too.

you may have already bought a comp, but I have to say the JP standard profile works awesome on my 6.5. Minimal recoil but, as expected, VERY LOUD! I now have hearing protection handy when I hunt.

Do you use electronic ear protection? I need to invest in some I think but just not sure if there all there made out to be.

You can permanently lose hearing from bone and/or air conduction of acoustic trauma, so ear plugs are insufficient hearing protection. Plugs only attenuate air conduction of acoustic trauma. If you really want to keep your hearing, plugs and muffs [and suppressors] are advisable.

What Nukes says is true, however, it is not the whole truth. I'm a hearing instrument specialist and I also make hearing protection. In my in-office tests as well as data from other sources I have found that generally speaking muffs are superior to even custom plugs. It is also true that sound travels to the cochlea (inner ear) through the bone. But your entire skull is bone and muffs only cover a very small portion. When considering hearing protection/loss associated with shooting it is important to understand a few things. 1- Hearing loss caused by gunshot generally occurs between 4000hz and 6000hz. And 2- NRR ratings don't tell the full story. I have seen hearing protection with an NRR rating of around 22db reduce sound levels between 4000hz and 6000hz by up to 45db while other hearing protection with higher NRR ratings struggle to reduce sound levels at those same frequencies by 35db.
Ear muffs are great and I recommend their use when possible but many shooters find it difficult to maintain a good seal while wearing eye protection. Ear muffs also make it difficult to maintain a good cheek weld on your rifle.
As materials improve I am seeing greater benefit coming from custom hearing protection and it is my belief that we will be seeing more and more of its application in the shooting sports weather it be electronic custom hearing protection for hunting or solid custom plugs for practice and target shooting.
