But yes, Kevin did a good bit of the design and drawing work, and Bill Alexander holds him in VERY high esteem. In fact, Bill thinks that he may very well be our generations John Browning, Bill thinks he is in that category.

This rifle has been in development for some time. The rifle is just like Ford or Chevy making a new prototype car. They hide it from the public and do there testing so we don't bother them and nobody steals there work before it is finished. I spoke to someone who worked for Bushmasters for years as a machinist and he said this rifle was in the works years ago. Just lots of liability if released to soon and they go out before perfected.
All new firearms from Springfield XDs to AA Grendel go thru extensive testing before it is released to the public view so the quirks are out then say it works. R&D is expensive and secret work....

Dave Koltick, physics professor/county councilman and 1000m shooter, got Kevin into the Purdue shooting club. Kevin took developed a passion for guns, wanting to be the next John Browning (there is a machinist at Purdue who does hold over 80 patents to include the basic patent on which the Glock pistol is based and is also a mentor to Kevin). Kevin is one of the next generation of gun designers. He has the technical skills (mechanical engineer) but it is his heart that will give him greatness.

Well where is this Kevin? Does he have any input into these posts or is there some information about him? You speak of him like JP Rifles John Paul or NASCAR Dale Earnhardt.

Kevin just moved to Columbia SC. FN USA hired him to design for the handgun division.
His career path is very similar to John Browning's

BTW, has he ever spoke of Chuck Harrington (http://harringtonproducts.com/)? Chuck works at Purdue as a machinist. But he has over 80 patents to his name, to include the basic patent for the concept of a plastic pistol frame that became the Glock. Or of Prof Dave Koltick who in 1997 wrote a paper proving that electronics create holes in space. Dave in 1995 also beat the Secret Service sniper team on the 1000m range at Camp Perry. Those two were Kevin's mentors.

Just wanted to bump this thread up and keep it alive.
From a civilian market, 550 units @ 6K (w/ R&D, G&A cost) each equals a 3.3 million dollar investment.
Even if your last name was "Colt", that is a substantial investment.
Precision is the key and should be the selling point.
Marketing will be a key component in the success of this unit. In this day and age you don't need network tv commercial advertisement, (but that would be cool if affordable)...but with forums like this and the Internet that can cater to specific interest, you're good to go.
Bill A., tell your accountants you are still in business because of your ideas and 'testosterinal' fortitude to big those ideas to market.

It's called Ulfberht, good steel, got a soul. Came through the trade routes from India but may have had origins in Persia. Extremely clean from impurities and allowed the progression momentarily from short high sectional weapons to much more elegant and effective ones with long blades.
I let Grendel stand on it's own. A weapon should exist because it needs to.
Ulfberht will do the same.

Nice! Already have it named! My Grendel Rocks and would not sell or trade it for any thing....same goes for my Wulf..

Couple of the test guns. One in the foreground is one of our durability weapons.
Been working on the sling attachments with Blue Force and also looking at the forearms. I already have 3" rails for the attachment points.
In use the hand guard will jammed against anything that will serve as support. From backpacks to the edges of concrete walls. The aluminum extrusion is strong but will quickly tear up so I stared looking at lightweight coverings. I was originally going to use Kydex panels but our plastics guy suggested skate board tape. Will stand lots of abuse, good tactile surface and can be replaced as it gets damaged.
