Regardless, you don't want to be hunting at 1/2km+ with this little calibre. The bullet will arrive slower than a wet week and be blown around by the wind. Fine for steel but the chances of unnecessary wounding are higher than a shorter Creedmore bolt gun.

So as to get a bit more clarity, what would you hunt with this, and how far?.

Me personally?
I feel it's best suited for hogs. Low recoil, highly mobile, adaptable, good rate of fire, good ammo capacity. And easily to 450yds.
Would I use it for mule deer to 300 yards? Yes if for whatever reason I no longer trusted my .270 win, I would have no problem switching to grendel. There is enough velocity and energy for a humane kill.
Elk? As much as I'd like to say, honestly those suckers are huge and I have no experience with that animal. If I had the opportunity I'd probably pass... I don't want to have to pack it out either.

Pigs, deer, roos, fox; out to 400M daylight (conditions permitting) -300M night-time spotlight.

Well getting an Elk as a guide I can tell you is about an all day ordeal
by the time the hunt is over, quartering it up and packing it out to the horses
and getting back to base camp is more often than not a night time deal.
At lease from my experience, not to say it's not worth it, there is a whole lot of adrenaline pumping
and excitement..
Sad to say I was really pumped about this round, though I might have to think of something else. But that's all part of the learning experience.

Funny. I learned to head shoot when I was young, to much wasted meat shooting them in the shoulder

The meat in a roo is mostly in it's legs, and very few like it. I take the legs and mince them up for dog meat. It's more about culling populations. You can buy it in supermarkets prepared for human consumption but it is a small market, including tourists. Healthy with no fat in it, but tastes like copper - survival meat only.

Well we have no Roo here, lol And I rarely buy big Ag meat anymore
nor would I feed it to my dogs
