I used a 16" BA Hanson barrel, it appears to be discontinued.

I have multiple BA barrels in 556 and 308, and there all shooters. My Grendel BA functioned fine on its test firing.. hoping to get out more soon

Thats what mine is also.
How old is yours. Just curious as I have a older one and the gas port was way small..opened it up and Now it functioned perfect.

FWIW, I have one of their Premium 20" DMR 6.5G barrels on a rifle. I think I'm still breaking it in, technically. Best group I've ever shot so far was just under and inch, five shots, using Hornady Black. Worst groups I've shot, using the same Black ammo was around three inches, but that was on a pretty hot day and I kind of let the ammo cook in the sun on a hot day in the desert before firing. Dumb. I just wasn't thinking. Damned cases were almost too hot to hold in my hand! Kind of a waste of ammo/money too, though I was considering it part of break-in at the time.

it's been a couple years now... 2 or 3 I can't remember. It's always been suppressed so I can't speak to the gas port... all I know is I have perfect function with an H2 buffer...

I have a BA 16 fluted 6.5G in my hunting AR. Maybe 2-3 years old? Never had reliably issues and shoots about 1-1.5 with 123 SSTs and ELDs.

1.5 MOA from the star isnt that bad. Trying different ammo as A5 suggested.
As far as Criterion and Wilson pre fit barrels go.I own both,they are sub moa.But if youre going to buy a criterion, just spend a little extra, $50 I think and have (Paul) Craddock build you a custom one. A custom criterion is better in my opinion.

I've shot some 0.75" MOA groups at 100 yards with my 16" nitride 5.56 BA Hansen barrel shooting handloads.
For my first grendel I went with the Stainless BA Hansen 12.5" barrel. I have not got to shoot it for groups yet, but I was able to do a function test with wolf ammo and it ran 50 rounds fine. Yeah I have a lot more to do but so far no issues.

Did a 556 with a BA barrel - very consistant .75 groups with good ammo and I do my part. If your not a good shot in the first place, paying a lot of money for a barrel won;t make you a better shot, just poorer.

My 20 BA barrel will shoot under 1moa with Hornady American Gunner. Its definitely more accurate than I am on any given day. My next build will definitely be another BA.

A couple of years ago i purchased a 12.5" BA in 6.5 Grendel. It was NOT my first AR pistol, but it was my first 6.5 Gr AR pistol. I couldn't get it to run correctly. I did a lot of experimenting with different buffers and springs b/c I was hesitant to mess with the gas port and I didn't want to send it back. I called BA, they said it should be .055", b/c they "assumed" I and other customers with a 12.5" would be running a 12.5" suppressed. I wasn't, and still not. I finally measured the port, it was .050". I drilled it myself to .068" (if I remember correctly?), it runs fine now.
Accuracy is probably as good or better than my eyes/shooting skills, no complaints there.
