108gr Lapua Scenar - Second - 03-22-2020
The test with the VV N133 powder was done this weekend.
I loaded up exactly the same charges as with the N530.
Same brass, same primers and same BTO/COAL and jump to the lands.
Range 97meters (~106yrd)
Temperature was -7C.
Pressure 999hPa and altitude 300m above seal level.
Shooting was done prone with bipod and rear bag.
Shots fired in "Round Robin"-style after 5 fouling shots/sighters.
All shots was fired with a Magnetospeed and here is the result from the speed data:

I was VERY surprised with the speeds.
If compared with the N530, the speed was higher with the N133 :confused:. Even at lower air temperature, and more stable. No significant signs of high pressure on any of the load.
If I take the three middle loads. The average speed is 865 m/s and the SD/ES for 15 rounds is 2/7. And this with three different loads.
. I think that the 28.3gr feels like a promising load, considering the speed data.And the result on the target:

Once again, VERY surprised! And this time positive surprised.
If compared to the target with the N530, this is a massive improvement. I think that I can take all 5 groups and put them on top of each other and still have a smaller group than the best one from the test with N530. And this is 5 groups with the same POA, 5 different loads and all landed in almost the same spot. Ok, one flyer on the target No.1 but beside that, I am really pleased. Both with the result on target, but also with me as a shooter.
The No.3 with 28.3gr will be my load to continue with. And I feel quite confident with that.

If I recall correctly a fellow that went by Bwild97 on this forum did some load development with N-133 many years ago and got impressive results. You might want to look at his old posts. Seems he always posted complete data.

Interesting to see other people get good results. Ive settled on 27.0 gr of n135 with 109 scenar and 26.6 for the 123s. Both perform very similar but I think the 123s shot with better SDs. Brass is lapua and shot at least 5x. I gotta find my data
