When I have traveled to the Sierra factory and purchased factory seconds from their thrift store Sierra always stated factory seconds not for resale. If you buy directly from the Sierra store the factory seconds are sold by the pound. I have shot several pounds of Sierra factory seconds. I have only shot .264 and 5.56 bullets from the thrift store but a friend has shot many pounds of Sierra bullets in most rifle and pistol calibers.

Sierra was sold in the last couple of years and the new owners have made significant changes in their business practices. Sierra factory seconds used to be only available from the thrift store at the factory in Sedalia Missouri. You used to be able to tour the factory during production but the new management has discontinued giving tours.

Curious results so far just loading some of them. In 50 rounds of loading, I found one that had a blue sharpie marked arrow on it (but otherwise seems fine).

I'm actually OK with the missing tip - that's obvious. I'd be more worried if it were subtle weight and balance differences - and so far haven't really seen that. I'll try to test fire these and see how they actually shoot. The official Sierra bullets with the load gives me sub 1.5 MOA.

Means that you’re not supposed to buy the seconds boxed bulk bullets and sell them in 100 ct bags at regular retail in your store.

I shot these this weekend over arcomp with groups ranging from 1-1.3 moa 5 shot groups. Groups seemed to put 4 into a .5-.8 MOA with one of the 5 being a flyer. Not sure if this was because the bullets or some other factor.

I'm getting similar results, my 2460 testing is promising, but load data from Sierra shows a bit hot. Like 2 grains hot. I ran some Benchmark under them to see how they grouped, haven't find what I consider a fair load for accuracy assessment as of yet. So far, they seem to not want to group. I will report back when I find a load I can get some kind of legitimate grouping from.

At the moment I am glad I didn’t purchase these. I bought a box of 100 107’s and my gun seems to hate them over 8208. I ran as high 29.2 and didn’t feel comfortable going higher.

2-3” groups. I could pursue another powder like AR comp, but this gun just seems finicky. 120 eldm and 120 gold dot are the winners for the time being.

Just for my own curiosity - what barrel are you using?

I tried Benchmark (poor results) 8208 (ok results) ARCOMP now that's the money for me 7 shots under an inch and SD of 9 with ES of 28 one other load with Comp had a 5 shot SD of 4 and ES of 12 forgot to take pics but good groups

What sort of velocities?

I averaged 2666 fps on the ARCOMP load
