Yes I have the same issue. I heard it is a hit and miss, some are smooth others are not. Dave.

Wasn't mean to be a smartass remark. I was simple stating in all the Google fuu and internet reading I have done on the cz 527 grendels. Your the only person that has said their action is having such a problem.
Worse I read about was one guy had to stone some high spots to smooth it out.
But as far as I know your the first person who has said their bolt is so ruff aka sticky that you have to push it closed from the bolt end.

I have a couple 527s one in 6.5 Grendel and one in 223, but have shot several others. 2 of them one of mine and one of a friends were not as slick on working the bolt as the others but after a couple hundred shots both of those smoothed out a lot.
They are a factory action and not as slick as some IMO but better than some other actions.

Is it when feeding from the mags? I find the mag lips on the inside are rough and smoothing them out helps feed smoother. I did this with my 223 and 6.5 Grendel 527's, plus the mag spring wearing in helps, too. Or is it without the mag? Sounds like there is a burr or something somewhere possibly?

Well picked up my cz grendel varmint yesterday. Action is butter smooth. Until I put rounds in the mags. It's ruff feeding when rounds are being stripped from the mag.
So will be doing a lil feed lip smoothing out with the dremel later today.
I won the wood lottery on this thing, my god it has some beautiful wood.
Will be next week before I get to sling some lead down range but I can't wait to shot this thing.

Best I can do with the pics. They don't do justice too the wood. Coating is a lil thin but god it has some grain grain structure and lines.

Looks very good, I can understand the headache of trying to get great grain of a stock to show up in pictures. I find it easier with the gun in full sunlight

It's surprisingly well balanced with the walnut stock and that llllooooooonnnnnnnngggggggggg barrel but I love it.
Will have the bell and carlson stock on it before too long.
Might buy one of the other model cz grendels just to put this stock on it lol.

I have bought 2 new CZ 527s and one had rings the other did not. CZ told me they ship with rings but some dealers have removed them then sold as a separate item. Not aying this happened here but suspect it did with my forst one

Don't think it shipped with them. They didn't open the box till I got there to inspect and put it on my name.
It's all good really just was getting ansy to go choot this tang.

A5, mine did not come with rings either. I have shot it with and without the DIP 25 MOA rail. Have a short fat neck and ended up with the DIP and Warne High rings in order to get a consistent cheek weld. Having to shoot a right handed action left handed probably did not help (cataract on right eye). BTW, I have the original med hight 30mm Warne CZ rings if you are interested. They have been mounted so the screws will show scuff marks, but other than that they are good as new. Only fired about 50 rounds before I started experimenting with other combinations. PM me if interested.
OOPs, did not see kmon's post. Did not intend on horning in on his deal, just overlooked it. However, if you (or anyone else) are interested, they will be cheap as I have no need for them and must downsize my stuff as my wife calls it.
P.S. is anyone else annoyed as I am at this site's text editor constantly changing the spelling of my words?

Already ordered a cz 527 grendel in the Beechwood stock version. Will jerk that stock off and put this one on it with a 1-6 power scope as a light weight food plot rifle.
And this one will get the bell and carlson stock and be my bench/target and clearcut hunting rifle.

I to have the CZ bug. Started about 8yrs ago with a !7 rem. Now have 5 and yes I have one that the bolt is sloppy. Best way I can put it. It just wiggles down the action. I pillar bed all stocks before I even start shooting. I have tried to polish rails in action and bolt lugs. Cant tell it helped any. I do lube the heck out of it just like an AR. I have cut 2 barrels off to 21" and really like the way the handle. These are the varmint models. Also thread for a can.

I have 2 CZ 527Varmints in 223 and a .308 550 varmint w/tacticool stock.All have super smooth action after break in.A little tight at first.But,I love the Mauser action.The only thing I did not like about CZ rifles is that you had to use their rings.Like someone mentioned,I overcame that with the DIP enterprises picatinny rail mount that fits into the dovetail.I use low 30mm vortex rings.EGW also makes a picatinny Mount for the CZ,but it costs twice as much and IMO is not better.If I get a CZ in 6.5 Grendel,it will be a 527MTR.But,right now I am digging the AR15 platform.And still am weighing my options between CZ,Howa and Ruger for a BA.One strike against CZ is lack of aftermarket parts and pre fit barrels.
