Thats a good video, it helps to see it done than read about it for sure. If you do it like that you will be good to go. Now the psa gas block is nowhere as nice as that JP but same principle.

Yep, it seems there are at least two different models. Mine is front gas, side lock:

There is also a side gas front lock they sell listed on their website:

So for those trying to figure it out, look where the side screw is in relation to the gas port. If closer to the muzzle end it is a set screw, if closer to the gas tube end it is the gas screw.

No kidding, thats why there's so much confusion. On my 12" PSA the gas adjustment screw is on the other side, the ejection side of the upper.

OK, I may be on track, or at least a lot closer. I got a new gas screw from the hardware store, the front ‘set screw’ is undamaged and reusable.
I 1st tried it with the gas adjustment screw about 2 complete turns out, from bottomed out. My stronger reloads cycled fine. I tried in about 1/2 a turn, they ejected but the bolt didn’t lock back with the magazine. I backed the screw back near where it was, in the ballpark of two complete turns out. The fuller power reloads cycled fine with magazine lockback.
I tested a few Hornady factory rounds, same basic ejection with lockback.
My weaker reloads with IMR-4198 cycled but no bolt lockback, I left it be since I’ll go with my stronger TAC loads for now.
Thanks for the help gentlemen. I will continue to evaluate but much better than when starting off. I’d think there may be some break-in issues also that may help.

The front screw, parallel with the barrel, is the set screw. The side screw, perpendicular to the barrel, is your gas adjustment screw.
Back off the front screw first, adjust the side screw, then tighten the front set screw.
This is how mine is. I almost stripped out the gas screw trying to undo it first.

Thats exactly what my 12 PSA adjustable gas block looks like. I assume the one on the side is the locking screw and the one on the front is the adjustment.

Sorry to hear Rack. Maybe tighten things that need tightening then head back to the range. You may need gas screw adjusting tools for next time too.

Just my two cents worth , my 20" PSA gas block has the adjuster on the side and the locker is the front one , which is the way most adjustable gas blocks work .

Same on my 18" PSA I got in December. I damn near stripped out the adjuster screw before I realized how it was set up.

Adding a note here vs starting a new thread. PSA 12" upper, I have the front gas version. The gas port was fully open as mentioned above. There also was no .025 gap between the edge of the barrel and the gas block. I went ahead and made that adjustment. I found my sets of hex wrenches and determined that the gas port hex key was 5/64" and the locking screw hex was .050. I order a couple of each in the longer version from Amazon. I went ahead and turned the gas screw in 1 full turn. At the range two days ago I was getting hit with a lot of gas. Not having the longer hex wrenches, I just made notes and came home to clean and inspect.
I have a superlative arms GB on the 300 BO pistol sub and super with and wo the supp. 5 1/2 turns out, its good. 200 gr SB for sub, Barnes Vortex for super. Might put one on the PSA if situation warrants..fyi....
Not sure if the other GB offered by PSA are the same dimensions.

I just sent back for repair/inspection my new PSA 20" SS 6.5G upper for 3:00 ejection but fail to feed & hold bolt open with gas port all the way open (occurs on two lowers that both work fine w/ 223 cheap ammo). We'll see how it goes.
PSA said they use a couple of different adjustable gas blocks. Some adjust on the front. Mine adjusts on the right side from shooters position (it's easy to tell just tighten the screw and i get FTE).
